Great question - it's probably a point I should've raised in the post. Let me put it to you this way: I very much doubt Research In Motion will have its Viigo team support Windows Mobile over the long term.

Isn\'t Straight Talk a Tracfone brand? You associate it with Verizon. http://www.straighttalk.com/Howitworks

Glad you think so. If I lived in the U.S., I\'d give it due consideration. The fixed cost is very attractive indeed. I doubt the Tracfone network is much better than say Verizon\'s but it\'s good to hear the offering is to your liking.

Great additions Peter. Google Voice is by far the most practical offering of the lot that we currently can't officially access. I should blog about that topic in future.

That is a great question. Bell has said very little to date about the Palm Pre; the company has said nothing as far as I can tell about plans that may or may not be associated with the Pre when it's released.
However, Rogers has recently tightened up its hardware upgrade plan so that buyers of subsidized smartphones MAY NOT buy another subsidized smartphone from the provider for 24 months from the time of purchase. Previously, buyers of Rogers subsidized smartphones could upgrade plan after 12 months.

According to the well-respected blogger and noted Microsoft critic Mini-Microsoft, recent company ads are "...award worthy, coherent ads that aren't a demonstration of how best to destroy millions of dollars quickly."
