Obviously from the number of arrests reported, the camera's show that people are speeding way over the limit. I'm not in favor of Big Brother watching our every move, but in this case, the camera's should make people slow down to a safe speed and that will result in safer highways. Either drive the limit or pay the price.
Of course, Wright egg company knew about the salmonella for years and nothing was done, mainly because the USDA is a total joke and has been for years. Do they really expect companies to report infractions when they're self regulating? Same thing with the beef industry. I think Wright egg should be shut down, cleaned up, and Jack DeCoster should either go to jail or be booted out the door.. Best of all, do away entirely with the factory farm and return to the old methods. Read "Fast Food Nation" for an eye opening account of chicken, pork, and beef factory farming. I promise you won't eat beef or chicken for months after reading it.
It's no wonder that MM is backtracking on privatizing social security after all the heat came down on her about her McMansion and her excessive lifestyle. She's pandering to the public and it's a shame if she ever got into office she would try to run thru privatizing social security. She's out of touch with hard working people who depend upon social security after they retire after a life time of paying into the system, unlike her, who obviously has lots and lots of money in the bank and doesn't have to depend upon social security in her old age.
Do we really need a pole dancing studio? Women are becoming sexually objectified in our society at alarming rates in recent years. How about if women start using their minds, instead of their bodies?
Iowa City's proposed ordinance will allow homeowners to veto neighbors getting chickens if they don't want them to. Obviously, neighbors in Cedar Rapids don't have this choice. . Also, how is it possible for the chicken odor not to go out of the boundaries of their yard?. The main reason I'm opposed to the ordinance is because I have lived next to neighbors who have dogs who let them live in filth, and tie them up outside 24/7. I cringe at the idea of abusive dog owners being allowed to raise chickens in their backyard. Ten feet from the property line is not much distance either, how about 100 feet?
High speed chases are never a good idea, especially when going 80 in town. Luckily, no one was injured.
Great to see these Cedar Rapids residents speak up and confront Culver about the problems in their neighborhood. Perhaps Culver will have a change of mind when he gets to his fundraiser and sees lots of media coverage.
I'm not a fan of Big Brother, but if the camera's can slow people down to a safe speed limit, they will have served their purpose. I have no mercy for people who go over the limit and put themselves and others at danger.
Can we get a picture of the dog?
