Online Aspect : How to start MAMP on port 80 without a password

I don't think it matters where you place it, but I'm not really an expert on this stuff. The other thing you can try is adding an exception for an entire user: username ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL This technique has some security implications, but I think it will take care of your problem.

Sure. It should look like this: username group = NOPASSWD: /path_to_script

Gnip: We got $h*t to pop : We pushed a new release this week

Are there any plans to let us filter on specific tags from Flickr and YouTube? I would love to be able to get push notifications when anyone posts an image to Flickr w/ a specific tag without having to specify a set of actors to watch.

http://electromute.com/ : Recursion in PHP

LOL, I'm sorry. Recursion will always be slower than the iterative soln. The best time to pull it out is when the recursive function requires 1/10th of the code. What you need is an excuse to write a binary search algorithm or program a chess game.

http://electromute.com/ : Recursion in PHP

I'm curious what prompted you to turn to recursion for this problem. It seems like a simple for-loop would have done the job w/o adding the additional overheard of recursion. Recursion is beautiful but it's also expensive on your server memory.

Skis / Toys / Fun : Alternative to OpenID

I like it. I've always argued that email addresses should be the primary keys of the web. The frustrating thing with Facebook Connect is that you can't do an email to facebook ID lookup without authenticating the user. This is annoying when you want to use multiple sources of social graph data outside of Facebook. I could see OpenID via email taking off pretty quickly if we could get it supported by the major email providers. I also love that it completely gets rid of the annoying "verify your email address" step from the on-boarding process.

one : Code Head

The problem is that it's impossible to be reach maximum productivity as a developer without being in the "code head" zone. Maybe the best thing you can do is surround yourself with people who understand and are okay waiting for the glazed look to leave your eyes so you can rejoin the rest of the world again.

Online Aspect : How to detect the RSS feed for a blog

You can save yourself from doing a lot of unnecessary parsing by looking at the top level domain and using the platforms default URL structure to get to their comment RSS feeds. I know this works for blogger/blogspot, wordpress.com and typepad. I hate parsing too!

I haven't been able to find any way to get the comment feed using their feed API. It looks like your best option is to go with the regular expression method.
