FredMcKinnon.Com : Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Great post Fred! I believe that it is time that the church began to extend there hand not only to the lost but to the ones that have fallen in ministry or are struggling. Accountability is key. My wife consistently asked me how I am doing in my spiritual life. She knows my weaknesses so she always asks me how I am doing, and I like that and want her to keep asking me. As worship leaders with have to be transparent and an open book first to God, then to our family, friends, ministry, etc. That just doesn't mean being transparent only when life is good but being transparent when life is not as great. And don't get me wrong, I am not saying we have to wear our emotions on our sleeves and let everyone know every single thing, but we cannot hide what can become a blessing to someone else. Our struggle and they way we handle it can become a blessing to someone else.

The Fuego : Sunday Setlist

Awesome questions Tina. Sorry that I have been getting to you late. But to answer your questions, yes, we do have a dance ministry that is under the umbrella of the worship team. They perform dances according to the songs that we sing. Yes, it is also biblical to have dancing accompany worship, because dancing is a form of worship as well. Here are some bible verses you could read. 2 Samuel 6:21 Psalm 149:3 "Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp. " We also have flaggers that accompany the dancing. Obviously you have to find people that have the talent to dance but that also have a pure heart because it can easily becoming a performance and distraction to the congregation. I definitely would consider it for any church, but pray about it first. To have different forms of worship, worshiping at the same time, is very beautiful. Thanks a lot for your questions. Keep them coming!

Tina a while ago I use to do what you were doing. Just close my eyes and just focus on God. But God told me, "Son you are a worship leader to lead this congregation into worship not just yourself". That changed my whole perspective and heart towards the church. I use to allow the crowds response to my worship dictate whether worship was good or bad. And that attitude brought me farther away from God. As worship leader we should have the heart of God, that brings compassion, patience, and love. Copy or click on the link below and check out this post I wrote a while back. http://johnnysierra.blogspot.com/2008/10/to-worsh... Keep the comments coming! This is a good topic.
