In this episode, he seems to not get along with Heather, and she seems to be a royal screw up, yet he was allegedly close to her. How does it get so bad? 9 months in a tree, 5 days married to this alleged socks/sandals man. Was this the first holiday episode that was quite standalone? Maybe it's the Full House head writer shining through (the writer of this ep wrote for Full House, btw) but it seemed like this entire episode, we were sort of being told instead of shown. Maybe it's cause Erin Cahill isn't that great of an actress. Her whole storming out and "Merry Christmas!" seemed a tad weak, as was the resolution that she got the briefcase with the lease in it. Robin giving her speech seemed a tad drawn "oat", as were her Canadianisms. Robin isn't THAT Canadian unless drunk, eh? That scene between Marshall and Robin on the steps, talking about how they'd go chase her down if she left...seemed a little "I love you, Michelle". Also people don't change. Just saying. Short cold open this week. Maybe this episode could have used a "Kids, this is..." but it sort of just went into it. I'll have more thoughts on this ep later.
