Hi Gerda46, There are hundreds, if not thousands of different bowling balls. The easiest way is to go to http://www.bowlingball.com/bowling-balls.html However, you will not be able to see them all on one page. You can increase to showing 90 of them per page. I hope that helps.

View from a Farley : Educating Students on Intellectual Property

All I can say is that you must have some impressive parents. You seem to be a very well educated person, and education starts in the home, not the school system. I agree with all of your points, and hope that more parents read this than educators. Parents need to start when kids are young, instilling a sense of pride in themselves and a knowing of what is right and wrong. Just because sharing an MP3 is easy and everyone is doing it, doesn't make it right. Keep up the great writing.

John Congdon : I Don't Understand the USBC (United States Bowling Congress)

Hmmm, that is a very interesting point. I guess I can't be upset since I do not put any money into the BPAA, as far as I know. I would be upset if I were a BPAA member though. Why make it a political nightmare? Thank you so much for the comment. It definitely changes the tone of my thoughts somewhat.

Hi Nick, Yes and no. There are different types of bowling, and therefore different sizes. 5 Pin and Duckpin bowling uses much smaller bowling balls. We only sell 10 pin bowling equipment at this time, so all of our bowling balls are the same size. We do sell collectible mini viz-a-balls, but they can not be used for any type of bowling.

I used this ball in league last week and shot my second 700 (731) series every. I was a stone 8 away from shooting my first 300 in the third game. It was the best I have bowled in a very long time. I am not sure why, but I didn't have to move more than a few boards all night, and never had to transition to a different ball like I normally do. I shot 206, 246,279... :)

John Congdon : Bowling Shoes For Kids

Hi Mike, Everything depends on your release being very consistent. Your release affects your positive axis point (PAP) and your PAP dictates how you should drill the ball. Watch Talk Bowling episode #15 for some more information about your PAP. http://www.talkbowling.com/talk-bowling-episode-0...

Budzman, This was completely my fault. :( I didn't put the windscreen on and the air conditioning vent is right above the camera. I usually turn the AC off during shooting. I do think the audio is better up until that point. Next episode I am going to try and take the mic off the camera to reduce any electronic noises as well. Thank you so much for the input though. I do like the comments, positive and negative.

Talk Bowling : Talk Bowling - Episode #0040 - How to Hook a Bowling Ball

Hi Alain, Thank you for watching. I was out of bowling for about six weeks because I did something to my wrist. I think my backswing was bad. :( I still can't recommend the Virtual Energy highly enough. I have thrown that one on more patterns than any other, so I have more experience with it. I did throw the Evil Siege and C-System 3.5. Both were great as well. With my lower rev rate, I prefer a pearlized ball to help it get down the lane and retain energy. Those are my thoughts... I am looking forward to being in the future videos, as many people seem to like our mix of talent. My lower speed, lower rev rate, up to Tony and Brian's higher speeds.

bowlingball.com News and Information : Bowling Balls for Heavy Oil

If you watch Talk Bowling, http://www.talkbowling.com/?lf=bbfho you will see that I love the Virtual Energy in Heavy Oil. I then often follow that up with a Hy-Road as the lanes start to break down. The C-System 3.5 is another great ball, but I haven't thrown that in a tournament yet like I have the Virtual Energy.

bowlingball.com News and Information : Bowling Secrets of the Pros

Please check out TalkBowling Episode #5 for some great bowling shoe information. http://www.talkbowling.com/talk-bowling-0005/ One option is to purchase shoes with interchangeable soles. Some people will lick their fingers and then rub the bottom of their slide sole, kind of gross, but it does the trick of limiting your slide. Hope these help.

bowlingball.com News and Information : How to Curve a Bowling Ball

Another great example of why our community is great. People giving advice is amazing. I like this suggestion as it was how curving a bowling ball was first described to me. A simple underhand toss of a football. You will notice how you can't really spiral the bowling ball if you keep your thumb on it the entire time. As you release, you lift your thumb and continue through with your fingers to cause the spiral. Thank you for the input on this topic! It is really appreciated.

bowlingball.com News and Information : How to Curve a Bowling Ball

Hi Roger, That is a very good point and you are correct. This basic article is trying to get the point across that is not so much spinning the ball, as it is a proper release. When using a finger tip grip, you almost automatically let your thumb out before following through with the fingers. The timing between the thumb coming out and the fingers is very quick. Thank you for the comment and helping us better improve the information.

bowlingball.com News and Information : Bowling Balls

There are so many options for bowling balls today that just trying to find what you want can be a nightmare. We try to make searching as easy as possible on bowlingball.com. The first question to ask yourself is, "Am I looking for performance or aesthetics?" If you are looking just based on the look of the bowling ball, then I would recommend looking into a Plastic/Polyester bowling ball. If you are looking based on performance, then you are starting down a road of many more questions. Watch our videos, read comments, and try to become familiar with what is available. There are new releases in bowling balls every few months, so things are constantly changing in the bowling industry.
