I have... unique music choices. Who knows - others might like it. Also, you might want to double or even triple your efforts and ask yourself: why would anyone visit your site if there are already hundreds of other established design websites like Netttus?

Too much text, not enough images and horrible music choice for the examples page. Break your text into smaller paragraphs, use proper capitalization, grammar and punctuation, and put some screenshots in there for reference. In other words, be thorough. PS: Your author bio is way too long.

Things look all over the place for this design. Since you're using Photoshop, try putting in some unique graphic designs (in the header, for example).

Ok, thanks for your feedback. I agree - the falling snow makes my browser lag sometimes. Maybe the code isn't optimized like it should. I'll look into it. As a matter of fact, I'm slowly developing a Wordpress theme. Clean and minimalist, as I like 'em. :) Don't expect it to be released in '08 though. Maybe late Jan of '09. Who knows.

I've been meaning to get up to date on the double background thing, and by glancing over the article, it looks like it's going to help me in the long run. Like the article says, there's a fine line between using 100% semantic code and a good design. I feel that this extra line of HTML code (empty div) is not that obtrusive and will gladly use this for the future. So thanks for the info.

I get EXTREMELY annoyed with Wordpress putting in unneeded class names for images that I upload via interface. And why does it even link to the full sized version if you're embedding the full-sized version already? So thanks for the plugin link - I'll try it out sometime soon. Along with the Google XML Sitemaps plugin, I tend to install the All in one SEO pack plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-se...By default, Wordpress doesn't generate any meta keywords/descriptions, so the search listing for your posts will look pretty ugly. This plugin helps fix that. WP-DBManager (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-dbmanager/...is great for auto DB backup and the like. Sorry for the link dump.

I, too, was interested in IntenseDebate after it was acquired by Automattic. However, I am not incredibly fond with it. The idea is great no doubt, but the execution of the said idea could be improved. I will use it once more customization features are introduced and the fuzzy avatar bug gets fixed. For right now though, Wordpress's comment system works fine (2.7's is even better). I won't complain that CSS-Tricks is using ID, though. Sidenote: like how you screencapped our threaded discussion. :)

I will be eagerly looking forward to when that happens (if ever). However, I found their customer support to be extremely friendly and fast, which I like. Just as a side note, Wordpress 2.7.x seems to support comment replying and comment pagination, which is a real plus for me.

I personally tried IntenseDebate while it was in closed beta; the main thing that turned me off was the lack of customization design-wise. I mean, you can't relocate the top bar to the right-hand side with the comment being on the left-hand side, and so forth. However, I look forward in reading about your experiences in using IntenseDebate later this week.
