Thankfully you can't further a total lack of point, hipocrite! At least I know I piss you off!

I would wonder what your thoughts would be on a game like the Witcher as well.

My apologies, I would have though someone posting an article on the world wide web with a comments section would be able to handle legitimate criticism of her absolutely baseless rant. I read your goddamn post. It’s rife with absolutely pointless “facts” and wavers between puritan garbage and vain attempts to claim your self some sort of aesthetic. Just because your spaghetti logic doesn’t make a lick of sense to me certainly doesn’t mean I don’t get it, it just means it’s exactly that.

I am not saying Jay is porn, I am saying he is an aesthetic representation of what is attractiveness in men. Actually I only ever said bishounen once, in a response I thought I posted wrong and then tried to recreate, which apparently you read and deleted. I didn’t think it applied to all Anime men, but it is certainly one which has a characteristic of that is viewed as attractive by a subset. You can point out they are Russian as much as you want. It is very clear they are using an Anime art style, which itself indicates a target audience similar to if they used the gothic styling of 40k.

You can argue that women are not the sex with more apparent sexual features. It’s pointless, and it again shows what you are upset about more than anything else. One trip to a fashion outlet should clear that confusion up for you. I didn’t say back in “cave-man” days men were the mate selector. Nor did I say ever female chooses to partake in it the same way. There are certainly more refined looks and cheaper looks. A female peacock allows the male peacock to mate with it, just as the male peacock tries to mate with the female peacock. This is two decisions, with two wholly different approaches which happen in nearly every single species out there. Manage your way over it at some point, for the rest of us.

My biggest grievance is your decision that you somehow think your personal opinion warrants consideration by others who may enjoy “T&A hypersexualised wank-pixels” as you put it. There is nothing wrong with it, but yet there is because it somehow offends your great sense of aesthetic, as if it was meant specifically for your consumption and enjoyment. I don’t like Anime, maybe I should run around telling everyone else who does why I think its sophomoric attempts at philosophy and hyper sexualized characters are childish and utterly unwatchable. Oh wait, I don’t really care, and am sure there are aspects that make that particular package appealing to individuals. If I did present the material, I certainly wouldn’t be upset that someone argued with me about it in a well worded and fairly thoughtful response. If your target audience was the average gamer, I am sure you’ve managed to offend a great deal of them.

I suppose at this point the entire post is fairly pointless, but I hope you at least on some take it in before deleting it. Its clear you don’t value free speech unless its yours, as you certainly think your sense of taste should apply to everyone, and have already shown you don’t care for others voicing opinions to the contrary. In between getting angry at every club happy 20 something going out in a short skirt and pumps and the Paris Hiltons of the world, maybe you can recognize it as just contrary to your cliquish thinking instead of somehow absolute garbage needing disposal. I am sure you wouldn’t enjoy someone who thinks they have a better sense of aesthetic than you spouting off at something you enjoy. Actually, I know you wouldn’t.

Research? I don't see evidence of yours and I question what you would have me check as far as the research I have presented. I have a feeling you don't appreciate much of anything I invested in the response given your labeling me as a pseudo-intellectual, a term no doubt applied by someone accustom to the territory.

You are right. It is very clear what you stated you were upset about. I am arguing you have no idea what you are actually upset about, and merely labeled it as such. Attractive women can be more than tits and hooker outfits, as I stated:

"In years long past heavier women were more attractive"

And you, writing during that time, no doubt would have found this character just as offensive.

Fortunately for me, pseudo-intellectualizing comes quite naturally, and I had plenty of time and foresight to write an entire paragraph on why characters are stereotypes. They certainly don't HAVE to be. A wheel no doubt could be made a cube, it just works better as a cylinder.

I made it to literature class, try littering your opinions with fewer weasel words and more actual content oh most renowned cultural anthropologist.

My comment about culture was towards Japanese Animation, which Gaijin is employing to bring graphical representation to their game. Apparently Russian companies don't hire Japanese people or incorporate techniques or stylization developed outside of Russia. Russia is apparently an island floating in space, which should come as a surprise to quite a few Russians.

Your writing an opinion article in a public forum, I wrote a response just as opinionated. Telling me to fact check would require facts, not opinions. If facts were currency we wouldn't have enough combined to buy Calista Flockhart a lunch.

Sexism and racism are phenomenal excuses on both sides to foster hate. In actuality the hate is simply stemming from the same thing that makes us judge and lash out at anything. Envy. Either of the target we presume racist/sexist or the opposite side, in a "grass is greener" type conflict. In reality we all experience hate and stereotyping nearly every day no mater which side of the coin you imagine yourself on.

The ignorance in your comments show most when analyzing the male hero. Your applying the same checklist you would to a woman, to a man. Women are the human equivalent of the male peacock, they have easily identifiable sexual aspects. This is due from thousands of years of natural selection, and men being the mate selector. Mammary show ability to feed the child, hips to facilitate birth. Newer benchmarks are created with regard to weight and the abundance of food. In years long past heavier women were more attractive, as food supplies increased and lack of weight became the healthiest alternative, the opposite occurred. The subconscious is a powerful driver, and we will never be able to leverage the conscious over it completely (personally I think most men that due are simply trying to increase their own "sexual" appeal).

Men on the other hand are like the female peacock, if your not a peacock, your not going to know what is attractive from one to the next. This is further shown by the stereotypes we apply to women, the idea that they "never know what women want" or "don't know how to please them". This occurs because men are unable to analyze the more subtle aspects that make them attractive. If I asked you to list out the most attractive men versus the most attractive women, I have a feeling there would be much less variance in choices for the later, regardless of the sex of the respondent. That being said how many fat heroes have you actually ever seen? Most male heroes probably have about 1% body fat, just none of the jutting exaggerated aspects.

There is further failing in the analysis due to culture. European male heroes are more simple than Japanese male heroes. Bishonin (sp?) are very common, as are less ambiguous but similarly less muscular heroes. This is most likely fostered by the physique of the average Japanese man (which is probably greatly related to diet for thousands of years, again natural selection).

These are characters, characters are simple. They don't have baggage, they don't have interesting hobbies and opinions. They excite the imagination in the most focused of senses. They are incarnations of emotions and stereotypes. When analyzed in a sexual/romantic aspect, they are the equivalent of a first date or picking someone up at a bar. Maybe you pick up a guy who looks intellectual and it turns out their mother just dresses them well, maybe you pick up a funny sassy female who is the life of the part and find out that is the only time she is happy. Their depth comes from their environment, surroundings and interactions therein. One could argue you should stop at that, but graphics are now very much a benchmark that games are judged on. You can create artistic clothing and backdrops, but an attractive lead will always be that, attractive. Anime's over the top nature will always produce these results.

The real question is what are you actually so upset with?
