I think rehabilitating Lennon into a member of the Christian Right is a bit if a stretch...
As a longtime fan of his it's my belief that he embraced the radicalism of the sixties/seventies because he was revolted by the kewpie-doll image Brian Epstein had crafted for the Beatles and he wanted to be taken seriously as the intelligent person he was.
But being an intellectually honest person (a rare thing on the Left) he eventually came to realize that his Bomb-throwing Revolutionary Messiah image was as artificial as the Loveable Moptop image he was trying to escape, and he finally was on the road to having the normal life of a human being that he lost on the Ed Sullivan Show. His last hit song said it best:

"I'm just sittin' here watchin' the wheels go 'round and 'round
I really love to watch them roll.
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go."

These people.
They slavishly delivered themselves up to Obama in the naive belief that he was "one of their own" and that they were his equals, and did everything possible to put him over the top. Like infatuated 13-year-olds crushing on a Varsity upperclassman they followed him about, adoringly hanging on his every word. But now that he has taken to the playing field and has control of the ball The Great Quarterback has more important things to do than indulge the contemptible romantic fantasies of mere children, and so their hearts are breaking.
But the torch they carry for their Magnificent Champion still burns too hot for them to cast it aside so they go on believing that, really, he loves them too...

Looks like Muslim extremists haven't yet cornered the market on theocratic ambitions.

I'm amused by all the devout Christians who believe that their omnipotent god will perish if they don't enforce his dictates on the entire world.

"Racist" is a slippery word to define.
Stewart's rants against Cain have a racial element; they are apparently motivated by his belief that Conservativism is inherently racist and that any black person who claims to be Conservative is an Uncle Tom. Is that "racist"? Who can say?

The Marxist Mantra: "To each according to his need, from each according to his ability".
Isn't that how the slaves were handled on the plantations? Give them the absolute minimum needed to survive while taking as much as they can possibly produce.
Leftism wants to put us all on their plantation. Back to the Liberal cotton fields, Uncle Herman!

Can someone explain to me what athletics have to do with education?
The insane competitiveness over athletic programs in the schools is helping destroy the educational system in America. The athletic departments in colleges are the most powerful and well-funded, and academic departments play only a secondary supporting role in the schools. Athletes are media stars and schools corrupt themselves in order recruit "students" who are academically deficient, then prop them up and grease the skids for them in their studies in order to have star-studded (no pun intended) teams.
It's time to remove athletics from the colleges and create a system of frankly athletics-oriented training facilities specifically designed to groom professional athletes and which don't have to carry on the hypocritical fiction that their athletes are "students" who, oh by the way, also happen play in sports.

The most appalling thing about this audio is the assumed "quid pro quo" implied in her "surprise" that she hasn't yet received money from this lobbyist - as though she is indignant that they are actually making her ask for it out loud. It would be disturbing enough if she were to state "you know, if you were to help me out I could be your friend in Congress" or some such; but her message is " you know how the game is played - why haven't you kept your end of the usual Washington bargain?"

I saw clips of the Rally with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin on Breitbart TV. I then watched a few minutes (all I could stomach) of Al Sharpton's rally, with the Good Reverend speaking to the crowd. I was very much struck by the contrast in tone between the two rallies: the speachifying at Beck's rally was all positive and hopeful, while Sharpton's voice was a constant snarl of hatred, accusation, bitterness and resentment. It told the entire story of the difference between the Left and the Right.
