Marketing Technology Blog : 50 Writing Errors that Continue to Haunt Bloggers

Well said. I can't say I'm entirely blameless when it comes to mispelling. There are days that I go off on a riff and don't even think to spellcheck! Not saying that it's attractive, but I don't mind a few spelling errors now and again in blog posts. It shows that we're human, and I sure don't have an editor proofreading everything that I put out there :0)

MarketingHackz : How To Monitor Your Social Media Campaigns For Free

I use Google Analytics a lot but feedburner has gotten finicky on me. Since Google rolled them up into their services, it seems like the service is a lot less useful. Sure, Feedburner tracks RSS feeds, but even that is all over the place (and I'm not talking about the 'weekend drop' or anything like that. Some days I log in and I have about 1/3 as many RSS subs as I did the day before. Then it jumps back up the next day.

NetHackz : LimeSurvey - Build A Survey App On Your Web Server In Minutes

I definitely agree with you. SurveyGizmo is a good choice, especially for bloggers looking for WordPress integration surveys that are going to be delivered through email. Something of that nature. I've tested it out a bit and liked what I saw... LimeSurvey is great for hosting your own surveys, but the email integration is lacking. You have to define keys and all kinds of other stuff. From what I remember, SurveyGizmo's is pretty well developed in that area..

LOL - Thanks for clearing that up Andreas :0) I agree with the auto follow software comment. What is it you do? I visited your site - you program and do some marketing. Do you do theme design or are you into plugins? Or custom apps? I'm interested..

MarketingHackz : True Experts Aren't Self-Proclaimed

As long as you back it up - that's fine. Other people perceive you to be an expert. I was mainly talking about those who have an introductory understanding of a topic and tell everyone they're experts. There are a lot of those people out there. When I first started working for myself, I was hesitant at calling myself an expert. I was worried that if anyone ever asked me a question and I couldn't answer it, my reputation would be in jeopardy. Now, six years later, I can admittedly say I was stumped once. But I still don't know everything. No one does. I guess what I was trying to say is expert status is something that people think of you, which leads to you thinking that about yourself... That's all..

MarketingHackz : How Reality TV Can Make You A Better Social Media Marketer

Yep they do! For the most part, all my posts go up on Twitter and Facebook because I believe that they're interesting and will help someone out. It might be about social media marketing or building a web server, but that's just the following I've built up over the years. I don't ever self promote to Digg, Stumble and Reddit though. I leave that to the readers. If they like something that's great, but I don't actively push those sites.. I probably should though.

I agree Chris! The best thing about social media and blogging is you can transport the conversations off of the original medium and into something more personal like email. Plus, being that bloggers 'put themselves outt there' it really does do wonders when someone reinforces your work!

MarketingHackz : 5 Things Your Social Media Expert Should Know

Being a resource is key. I didn't quite look at it in that light! The biggest thing that you have which they won't be able to build over night is your network. Giving them the tools they'll need doesn't necessarily mean that you're giving away your secrets. You're just providing them with the service that they're paying for. Social media is constantly changing. The people that stay on top of it will be the ones who succeed. The ones that say, "OK, Twitter is the end all, be all" are going to be the ones looking for a job in a year or so!
