Alexander,
I've been a longtime reader of your blog. Great to see you acknowledge the elephant in the room that is global climate change. Entrepreneurs have solved nearly all of this country's big challenges, and I think climate change will be no exception. My company, re:char, takes an innovative approach. We are austin-based, and we build small power plants that convert farm and animal waste into power and biochar. Biochar is a high-carbon charcoal product that can be sold as a substitute for industrial carbon or as a very effective organic fertilizer. More importantly, the production of biochar makes our process carbon-negative. This means that for every kilowatt of electricity we produce, we suck a small percentage of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Our technology has been recognized by The Economist magazine as a "New Growth Industry" and "Top Innovation of 2009." I'd love to chat with you more offline. Here is a link to a talk I gave last year at the Pop!Tech conference: http://poptech.org/popcasts/jason_aramburu_new_en...
