Its amazing how quickly you can pick up what to do, I have been seriously exploiting Linkedin for about 2 years but Twitter, Facebook, blogging etc etc only a matter of weeks. Already I am making the most of Tweetdeck (which I am not keen on) and Tweetlater - queuing up tweets and key word searching.

ALREADY I have sat on a panel speaking about social networking, I have just come back from the UK (I am a Brit living in NC) and Twitter is going ballistic - people were almost in a line to pick my brains! As I tweeted earlier today - "in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king!"

It was good you talk to the kids (if you are allowed to these days without being vetted!!!) about social networking because they will need to come out of school equipped for business and these days this means social networking!

Great post - I sussed this out only about 6 weeks ago. I work for myself and have done for 20 years but business WILL GO AWAY if I do not wise up to new ways of connecting with people.

Your post is good advice for sceptics and partners who think we are just sitting here Twittering, getting Linkedin and Facebooked [just] for fun. Its good advice for job hunters who think - why do I want to sit gossiping on line, I need to be job hunting.

I had to ask myself "am I becoming a marketing dinosaur" - http://tinyurl.com/b9zdzt - I had to get my wife to understand if I don't get with the programme there will be no future clients.

I too believe in helping people too, I just wish the economy was better and I could afford to spend more time doing it.

Like I said GREAT POST.
