At this point all I can/should say is: The best thing about Samaritan House is that it isn't the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. When are those kids going to learn how to run a shelter? or maybe they should hire some grown-ups to run it?

Wrong again Max...

Stick it to the man! I used to love watching the cops show just how impotent they really are when confronted by the will of the people. Let the kids smoke their weed. It's safer than alcohol. Although my weed smoking days are over, I don't begrudge anyone who wishes to partake. Marijuana is essentially legal (according to state not federal law), but let's call it the way it really is: Medical marijuana is a sham. Marijuana is not medicine (except perhaps for 1% of the population). People smoke marijuana to get high. Any "doctor" who prescribes marijuana is a quack and marijuana can be addictive. Anyone who says otherwise really doesn't know what they are talking about or they are lying. The smoking of marijuana should be legal, but my concern is: Do you really want your surgeon, pilot or military smoking it?

I've got to admit, Max, you're right again. That's twice in less than a week (see also "new Civilian Conservation Corps" 4/8/2010). What are the odds of that? They must be astronomical!

Are you familiar with the "Infinite monkey theorem"(monkeys typing Shakespeare)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theo...

My question is - how many years will it take Max Weller to end up typing one complete work of Shakespeare in his blog?

I agree. An excellent idea.

Please don't confuse Max Weller with fine people like Joy Eckstein, Rider ? and Heather ? (at the Carriage House) or Jim Budd (BOHO) who are actually trying and succeeding in helping the homeless improve their lives and by extension the quality of life for Boulder in general.

He (Max Weller) does not represent or speak for us, he is only promoting his own narrow agenda.

As I have asserted before - Max is no better than a snitch. He has his nose so far up the cops' backsides as to know what they ate for their last meal. How he ever made it through prison alive is beyond me, unless maybe the guards were protecting him because of all the information he provides.

He is very quick to point out problems and criticize others, but when it comes time to be part of a solution - as in taking action, he balks.

Speaking of "real Boulderites", Max, I am a "real Boulderite". I was born in Boulder, went to the schools in Boulder, had jobs in Boulder, paid taxes in Boulder, et cetera.

You as I understand it are not "from around these parts". So, how about you either stop being a hypocrite and pissing and moaning about all the "Denver bums" using "Boulder services" or go back to Missouri and live off the dole there?

By the way, as I have mentioned before - I along with some other "Boulder bums" am living at Samaritan House in Denver (as we try to put our lives back together and become gainfully employed, tax paying citizens again.

Also, you sound jealous of everyone (at the shelter) and everything (foxes and mountain lions) getting some while you are not.

Maybe, the kids running the BSH should come on down to Samaritan House in Denver and learn how to run a shelter and ensure chores are done correctly. Aside from the intense peer pressure of getting chores done correctly (really cleaning the bathroom), there are chore points (bad) - four points (I think) and you're out! But, I'm not going to get any points, so it doesn't matter to me how many points it takes to get booted. I work in the kitchen.

Interesting that you would choose this place - I might be living at Samaritan House within a few days. Although, it may be out of reach for some in that they charge $? It's a program to teach broke, homeless people how to get jobs and places to live, but it costs money?

I suspect that most of the people there are "scholarship" like me, but I really don't know much about it.
