This is routine with Presidents when they first enter office. President Bush did the same thing. That is why it is called executive privilege. It is unfortunate that the media did not do its job in properly vetting this President's past so that the public is not suspicious of such things. We now have to live with only what we know and hope for the best. Time will tell us more as the shoes drop.
This government does not torture anyone let alone goat herders. Also, enhanced interrogation techniques were used only on high profile detainees where the government had enough evidence to justify such interrogations. WHEN will you liberals understand that these Muslim extremest /terrorists are hateful, dangerous and want to kill us? That includes you, your children, parents, friends, etc... Are you willing to settle for a passive approach to obtaining that kind of critical information while many innocent lives are in imminent danger. To allow people to die in such a situation is more immoral than having to interrogate a murderer.
Great analogy Hemiking. I think we will see a dip in the next set of credible polls after the President's disappointing representation of America during his trips to Europe and Latin America. Reasonable folks are starting to come out of their "obama comas".
WATCH this video from the (ap) of Obama accepting a book today from Chavez on Americas's exploitation of Latin America. Look at him and Hillary both smiling and chuckling over it. I am so disappointed in the slap happy casualness of his new found relationship with this dictator who has said such hateful things about America. Check it out and let me know what you all think.

Will any member of Congress stand up and dispute the waste of taxpayer money for our Government to write such a report and point out the unforgivable insult this aims at our military veterans? I hope that at least one of them will investigate the origin of these statements and identify the author/authors who put this forward as well as the supervisors who signed off and sent it out. We the people want transparency. Keep this issue alive. Call your congresspeople and demand some answers. This is a subtle directive to all law enforcement federal, state and local to be on the lookout for folks with conservative values. Chilling!
I urge everyone here to stop judging homosexuals while discussing this issue. Although, you all have opinions, these harsh personal judgments have no place here on the 912 project. We are all here to discuss collective concerns about the direction our government is headed. We are supposed to be treating one another with respect and maintaining a civil dialogue. Please, if you must discuss this "silly" subject refrain from personal attacks that single out a group of people who are just as welcome here as you are.

You ARE NOT mistaken about the majority of us here who believe in the values and principles stated here. I am sorry that there are folks here who speak with such harsh judgment. Show your SERIOUS determination to vote out politicians who have misrepresented America's principles, your UNITY with others to let them know that you will be RELENTLESS in your call for accountability to taxpayers. However, please do not offer them the kind of external anger that they will gladly use to label us . Stay confident and unified, but KEEP YOUR COOL. Do not come to the tea party intoxicated or armed with anything other than a sign and a strong voice. Remember that they are waiting for that one person to lose composure and act like and idiot so they can play it on the evening news. Let us be on guard and behave accordingly. When the rest of the country sees us strongly put peacefully unified, they will know that we are a future force to be reckoned with.

I just want to remind people that are planning to attend any tea party to be prepared for the liberal media and the left leaning protesters who are likely to attend. No matter how tempting it may be to be on television, do not allow yourself to be used by their camera trap to expose us all as angry, uninformed and misdirected. Respond with confidence but not vengeance. Let us show them that we are intelligent, freedom loving, American citizens who are fed up with our government's policies.
ISEEU, You are so right. I grew up the same way. My family also talked politics and religion. The grown-up's conversations were thoughtful, probing, rich with passion and disagreements were respectful. I learned much about such things just by hanging around the table. I have tried to instill in my own children that the responsibility of citizenship includes informing oneself of facts when it comes to politics and religion and being brave enough to form a set of principles and present them to others. I hope that this forum helps me and others to keep ideas and information flowing. I will keep talking about politics and religion with anyone who wants to as long as I have a tongue.
