I'm pretty sure he said "other woman"

So if you lust after you're own wife, its the same as sex, which is okay. Conversely, lusting over your girlfriend is NOT okay.

A least that's the way I've always interpreted it.

Yeah, I've read that before, but "unwholesome talk" is a pretty dynamic word.

If it was just "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths" it would be hard to argue, but it goes on after that to say "but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen"

This makes it sound a lot more like its talking about more than words, but how they're used. Do you use profanity to be more eloquent with certain people, speaking in their language, or do you use it to cuss people out, and make them feel worse?

I still haven't addressed all the verses that are used to argue against profanity, and in all honesty, I don't know one way or another, but in this verse, I don't think Jesus is talking about it.

Ask a woman to take you to a paint store and find what color of red paint will match something in whatever. You'll get a very eye opening experience, just be sure to wear comfortable shoes, cause you'll be there a LOOONG time.

Here you go, John.

Consider this potential scenario-You are driving home from the store to bring your wife some flowers and a box of chocolate, not because of a holiday, but because of your vast sea of love you have for her.

You see that construction is being done on the road, and it is closed. You must take the detour.

You are driving, when suddenly, you see a baby deer step out into the road. Without second thought, you selflessly and swiftly swerve off the road, rolling with your car.

You wake up, not seriously injured, just a few bruises and cuts. You climb out of your overturned car, and find yourself in the middle of nowhere. It is very cold, and you are hungry. You need to build a fire, but you have no matches or lighter. You know it is possible to build fire without matches or a lighter, but you don't know how!

No fear! You have your Ipad with you that your loving wife bough for you!

You go to Youtube, and find an instructional video on how to make a fire with nothing but sticks and your belt.

You also find instructional videos on how to make a bow and arrow, how to hunt wild rabbits, where to find water, and how to make a really cool hat out of mud and leaves.

The search party finds you two days later. They find you relaxing comfortably by your fire, chewing on your rabbit and sipping your cold spring water, while studying the bible on your Ipad.

They take you home, and your wife runs into your arms. She embraces you tightly and says "oh honey! I'm so glad you had your Ipad! I don't know how you would of survived without it!"

I thought it was a good post, and I agree with most of it, but I want to make it very clear that I believe CNN is more than a secular network. They do more than just sensationalize the crazies. You won't be on the path to hell from watching an occasional series or two, but I think watching CNN regularly WILL really hurt you spiritually.

hahaha this is great.

On a side note, does anyone else feel guilty for hating praise and worship music? "I can only imagine" etc? Don't get me wrong, I love Christian music, Christian Rock, Christian country, old fashioned gospel, Christian Metal, Christian country, hymnals etc.

I just don't like praise. Its just boring for me, and it makes me feel forced. I'm sorry, but I can't get into super praise mode while I'm driving to the grocery store.

I like it live, since the songs are easy to sing along, but in the car, I'd much rather have "God must really love me" or something like it. Am I the only one like this?
