This article so touches my heart. I want to go to that country as a teacher and a missionary. God loves all people, and we have to reach out to them to bring them to Him!

In the name of safety and protection the government on all levels is not so slowly taking away all of our civil liberties, in favor of government controlled commerce. The worst part of this whole thing is it is happening on both sides of the isle. Both Conservatives and liberals tend to step on the civil liberties of people in favor of government control. The only way around it is to strike some sort of balance between strict conservatism and libertarianism, where there is some very limited protection for those who cannot defend themselves, but greater personal responsibility to allow for greater freedom. Most of these regulations strongly favor larger wealthy corporations who lobby for these things in an attempt to snuff out smaller entrepreneurial competition.

Take a serious look at the reaction of Boehner verses the reaction of Harry Reid. Reid was in a tight race, Behner was not. Behner reacted with gratitude and humility, Reid however reacted with smugness and disdain. I think a real look needs to be taken at possible voting fraud in Harry Reid's district!

Since the whooping cough was brought up I will give a case in point: Iowa recently had an outbreak of whooping cough, it broke out worst in the high schools and in the adult population. Over 95% of those who got the disease were immunized, I don't know of a death statistic, but obviously the immunization was not lifetime protection.

As parents we should be allowed to decide for ourselves and our children what vaccines and when to give them, based on our own research and disscussions with our doctors.

I do find the increased rates of autism that seem to coincide with the increased amounts and younger dosing of vaccines somewhat disturbing, but not necessarily proof positive that vaccines are at fault, there could be numerous other reasons, like increased use of epidurals during labor, lower numbers of mother's breastfeeding, etc.

That being said, I do not believe that our governments local state or otherwise should be mandating vaccines like chicken pox, hep B and the other one for HPV. There are several other diseases that as long as you are healthy and not immune compromised it is better for you to get the disease than to be vaccinated, because surprise surprise the vaccinated immunity can wear off where natural immunity does not.

I agree that Ms. McCarthy is neither qualified or educated enough to be someone anyone looks to for any kind of roll model.

That being said, I am not an anti-vax mom, I am a delayed vax mom. I do not put my kids in day care (if they were they would have been vax'd early), so their risks of catching most things is less than the possibility of bad side effects from the vaccines. I think we have too many vaccines, and we are putting too much stress on young systems way too early, even before their immune systems are developed enough to handle it. I believe this has the possibility of damaging a child if they are predisposed to that damage (there was a court case recently regarding this, but it wasn't an autism case).

I think he is a true believer. Obama truly believes the line drawn between republican and Democrat is strictly Big Corporations vs Unions, so he sees it as the evil businesses against the working people. I hate to break it to you Mr. Obama, but the lines is not that black and white. Members of both parties have their hands in the pockets of big business, and the Tea Party is attempting to oust those people from the Republican ranks, the Unions however are worse than big business and they own you Democrats lock stock and barrel.

I mentioned FICA and Medicare, you obviously have trouble paying attention. The other taxes you mention are not federally mandated for the most part, except for energy taxes, which the left seem to think need to be continuously raised, and those tax hikes really do only hurt the poor and middle class.

I have lived below the poverty level, but I was raised with something in short supply lately, pride. I fought my way out by putting myself through college (which I am still paying off because that is what responsible people do) and got a good job. I didn't accept food stamps or welfare payments, and I lived in apartments, rode busses, and worked for minimum wage, so point your finger elsewhere.
So instead of using your sophomoric made up words that the press had a field day lambasting President Bush for give me a real mature argument.
