You covered writing for the blog, but left out the part about thinking about the next story 24/7, promoting the blog, responding to comments, handling growth, generating revenue, dealing with partners, etc. In my experience, all of these issues will be magnified as your readership grows. Fast forward 5 years... I'm wearing a small necklace or braclet or even watch that conducts sound through my bones to my brain. If the device is turned on, all my voice tweets - what I like to call veets - are delivered in full living sound as soon as they are sent. So, as I sit typing on my blog using my virtual keyboard at starbucks, I hear the folowing, "Cindy veets, new fashion update: ihearts.com." I double-click the device to activate TTS (Transfer To Screen) and follow the link to ihearts.com to check out Cindy's idea. Thumbs up or thumbs down for voice tweets in the future?

This sounds like a case for MythBusters. At the very least, maybe a good plot for the next season of 24. "Watch Jack foil a terrorist plot to hack into the president's GPS enabled BlackBerry, turn it on while the president sleeps, and fire a missile into the White House following the GPS signal. I am trying to start my own revolution! Some months ago, I had an idea to create a better music download. This new and improved download would come "bundled" with a revenue share agreement, so that every time you bought a song, for instance, you would also be buying a share of the potential future revenue of that song. This share would, of course, be a tradeable commodity in and of itself. Planned obsolescence is definately a corporate business strategy that has been used for a long time and why not, it works!

Duplication of efforts is only part of the problem. The other problem is that no government organization ever wants to get smaller, so what they do now is cover everything up under secrecy laws. If you take a close looks at Section 9, Para 7, of the U.S. Constitution, you'll notice that it says, "No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time." The government got around this by faking an "incident" back in the 1940s and they have been spending money like a one-eyed willy in a whore house ever since. The current "black" budget is approaching $100 billion, yet no one knows what it is for or what it does. If the Constitution doesn't count anymore and government is no longer accountable for its expenditures, should we be at all surprised that they give us a piece of shit for the USA.GOV website? It would be interesting to find out how much they paid to create and maintain this site. My guess is it is way too much for what they got.
