I think that south park is completely “off the hook”. I have never liked this show. It is completely offensive and ridiculous. All of my friends love to watch this show so I figured I would just give it a chance. However, by the end of the episode I was completely outraged and bothered. They made rude and offensive comments towards women, different races and religions. I think that this show should not even be allowed to be aired. I understand that some people may think it is funny, but they should really think about the people they are offending when they make those comments.

I completely understand why immigrants come to our country illegally. It is expensive and a long process that most people do not enjoy doing. However, I think there should be a time limit. If an immigrant comes to the United States and still has not become an official citizen after six months then will have to be sent back. We can not support all of the illegal immigrants living in our country. But I think we should at least give them a chance to make it happen. They can get a job raise some money and apply for the process.

I think that this is a very tough question to answer. Personally, I think it all depends on the individual. Sometimes you have immigrant who are working their butts off just to support themselves and their families. While on the other hand, you have immigrant who just do not care to become a citizen. I feel that everyone has the right to come to the United States no matter what his or her economic status is. We should not discriminate people, rather encourage them to get jobs and become citizens.
I feel that there should be some sort of rewards system for the immigrants who come to this country and work really hard. Most of time, they are working in jobs that we would never even think to work for. These are jobs that get paid little because they do not really need a lot of experience or an educational background. But they are still working long, tiring hours just to make ends meet. I think that these immigrants are more deserving to be here legally then the bums on the streets. We should be kicking the people who live on the streets on sell drugs out of country. They do nothing for our country and just create chaos. It is not fair that the immigrants do not have enough money to become a legal United States citizen but are still working extremely hard.
I am not sure what type of policy they could enforce but I think that they should look at each case individually. If an immigrant is working hard to make a good life for themselves then I think they should be allowed to stay. However, if an immigrant comes to the United States and is completely worthless and has made no attempts to become a citizen then they can be sent back. It is not fair for them to be living in our country and receiving all of the benefits as the other citizens.
I have heard that the legalization process if very long and intense so I can completely understand why immigrants would chose to just live here illegally. This is such a complicated issue but I think that if someone really wants to live here and make a good life for themselves then our government should not kick them out. They should work with them so they can become legalized citizens. However, I do not think it fair if they live here for so many years and do not have to pay taxes and health care and all the other amenities that come along with being a United States citizen. If they are going to live here they need to help support our country.

I think that all women are beautiful and unique in their own way. Their appearance may play a big part on what they look like but the true beauty is really inside. I know that is really corny to say but I find it to be very true. I think beauty comes from within. Although, I know a lot of girls who try and cover up their personalities by dressing and creating an image that is not them. They are dressing for society. I know a lot of girls that have small boobs are always trying to make their boobs look bigger. They buy push up bras that have extra padding so it can create that certain “look”. While on the other hand, most girls that do have big boobs are usually trying to cover them up and make them look smaller. They always have trouble finding certain clothes and bathing suits to fit them. This is just a never-ending cycle that will probably never end with women. We always want what we can’t get.
It is very bothering to know that men and society are so obsessed with our images and the way we look. We must always be presentable for society and keeping up with the latest trends in order to be considered “beautiful”. I think the whole concept of boobs is out of control. The size of a woman’s breasts should not matter. We should not be judged by other guys because are breasts are too small or too big. How would guys feel if we could tell the size of their penis just by looking at them? Do you think they would feel a little self-conscious? What if their penis was a size A (the smallest size it could possibly be) would women still find that guy desirable? It’s much easier for men to sit there and criticize e women for their appearance because they can hide anything they want about their body behind baggy clothes.
I thought that the play that was performed in class was amazing. It completely revered the situation around and made it look completely ridiculous. Which is absolutely true, this whole obsession with big boobs is ridiculous. Boobs are simply just extra fat that is placed on our bodies. Guys apparently don’t like it when our fat goes to any other parts of our bodies, but when they go to the chest reason it is completely acceptable? I wish our society could stop caring so much about people’s appearances and start to look at the person under that. If you really get to know people and their personalities you will find that person to be beautiful too. Women are not all just about boobs, buts and curvy hips. We are normal human beings like everyone else in this world. We were given certain womanly characteristics and traits that make us who we are.

95 weeks ago @ Race Relations Project - Can we co-exist? · 0 replies · +1 points

I think that it is almost impossible for us to co-exist in this world. Every country is striving and working for their own good. Most of the time we do not stop to think about how our actions are affecting others around us because we are happy and getting what we need. We are human and we will always be striving for perfection and we will pretty much do whatever we can to get it. We are killing people in Afghanistan because we want their oil, well we are killing and enslaving so many other people in this world because we want their goods too. So I do not think it is possible for us to all co-exist because we are too greedy and stubborn to compromise.

I understand exactly what Sam is saying. I could see myself thinking differently if I lived in Iraq and the United States was invading my land. I would not be able to just sit back and watch my land and life get completely ruined by people from a different country. I would probably join the insurgency and fight to defend my land and my family. However, I do not think that the Christians want to take over the world. Even though Christianity is one of the biggest religions in the world there are also so many other different religions. I do not think that all Christians are working together to take over the world.

WOW! I am in complete shock and almost even speechless. This is completely outrageous. This type of game should NEVER be allowed to even be created. What type of sick person even thought to create a game like this? Do men really find it fun to sexually grope and rape women and think it is okay just because it’s a video game? If they think it is okay to play this game then they will subconsciously think that it is okay to act like this in real life. The Japanese government really needs to do something about this. What on earth is our world coming to?

I think that the second step should be creating awareness. If we really want this terrible cycle to end then we need to inform people that the products they are buying are produced by slaves. I feel like if more people were aware of this then they would not be so open to buying these types of products. Sam said that people need to get a “feeling” in order to make a difference. Well I definitely got the “feeling” after watching this video. We need to get other people to get that same feeling and then maybe some changed will start to happen.

96 weeks ago @ Race Relations Project - Why'd you eat the seco... · 0 replies · +1 points

Well I did eat the second piece of chocolate, however I ate it as soon as I opened up the tin foil. I love chocolate so it was very hard to resist because I was getting hungry and I usually never turn down a piece of chocolate. However, after I watched the video I felt completely sick to my stomach. I wanted to throw up my food, that’s how sick I felt after watching it. But in reality there really was no harm in eating the second piece of chocolate because if I did not eat it then it would just go to complete waste. The real harm was the fact that Sam (or whoever) bought enough chocolate to supply over 700 kids just to make a point? If he thinks that this cycle is bad then really he should think about what he is doing, because he is supporting it. Im sure he does this demonstration each year. He says that he has been teaching for over 20 years. So if he teachers Soc 119 in the fall and spring then he buys at least 8 bags of chocolate a year. Then you multiply that by 20? That’s over one hundred and sixty bags of chocolate. I am sure that has some sort of impact on why there are still slaves today.

It is so unbelievably sad to think that this type of slavery still goes on today. When the boy made the comment that we were eating his “flesh” it really got me thinking. If I had known this before I ate the chocolate I would never had eaten it. Sam made the comment that it was okay to eat it if you ever plan on having chocolate again, but honestly I do not think I could ever eat chocolate after watching the video. I really do not want to support this cause and even though I may just be one person and it may not make a huge difference but hopefully it had some sort of impact on other people in the classroom.

It’s sad to think that I probably consume and buy so many different products that are produced by slaves and I do not even know it. I wish I was more knowledgeable on this subject because after watching that video I really do not want to buy or eat anything that is made by slaves. It is completely unacceptable that we are still buying these products when we know how they are made. If we all just stopped buying these products then there would be no more business for the slaves and ultimately this terrible cycle would end. I am really going to try and find out what type of products are produced by slaves and make a very conscientious effort to not support those products.
