Why did she say the conversation "didn't exist" both on the tape and on CNN if she claims it wasn't wrong? Why bother to deny something that isn't damaging?

Oh, and Pelosi denies that any lobbying for the Intelligence Committe Chair took place? Are we supposed to take her word for it? [I CAN"T WAIT for the next election, so that Nancy Pelosi can go back to being MINORITY leader again!]

Conservatives never make it to election day.

Reagan was the last conservative nominated by the Republicans. Bush I and Bush II were not conservative, and neither was McCain. Dems are getting more liberal, too. It's funny--go back and listen to JFK's speeches about taxation. He talks about how lowering taxes will RAISE government revenue because lowering taxes creates more jobs and more taxpayers. He sounds more like a Republican than many currently in Washington.
And I have no doubt that he'd get blasted in today's primaries by a more liberal Democrat.

Lies are lies, no matter who says them.

When a liberal lies we should call them on it. When a conservative lies, we should call them on it. Period.

It's simple. Small government, low taxes, personal freedom. The Constitution.

Remember the campaign? NO ONE with an income below $250,000 per year would have higher taxes under Obama. Well, the footnotes (so far) seem to be (1) unless you smoke; and now (2) unless you use electricty or gasoline.

Just remember, it took Carter to bring us Reagan.

In my local newspaper, they described the opposition to these cuts only in economic terms. They referred only to defense job cuts in the reps' districts. Nothing about national security concerns.
Shameful.

This is from the leader of the gun control crowd, remember. He actually believes that making an agreement or passing a law is enough.
In the gun example, drug dealers and other lawbreakers find and use guns regardless of what laws they're breaking, and thus can kill or rob or control those who follow the gun laws and can no longer easily defend themselves.
The nuclear example is exactly the same: rogue countries will develop and use nuclear weapons, or threaten to, in order to control those countries who, after disarming according to the agreement, can no longer defend themselves.
The world would be a better place if weapons weren't necessary. But Pandora's box is already open.

A drop in price means little if you don't sell, and if you don't hold a particular stock (the whole DOW is not going to go out of business).

All this hype over what things are worth today doesn't mean much if you're not going to sell today.

Even the stock market is a good long term buy--think about it. If you're in index funds and you have 20 years or more before you retire, then the market will rebound by the time you need the money. And you will have bought it at bargain basement prices, with dollar cost averaging. In my opinion, now's a great time to be contributing to your 401K, if you're in your 40s or younger.

Imagine--people used to provide their own insurance, by SAVING their OWN MONEY! They lived within their incomes, in communities where they knew each other and helped their neighbors when something went wrong. Sounds like Utopia to me.
