Thanks Dan! I wish I could get some sleep. Unfortunately, not everyone is as conscientious as I am, so I'm working overtime to get everything done, as well as do my own paintings. Sleep is very little at the moment, but it will all be over next week, and then it's back to college. No rest for the wicked...I must have been downright evil! Haha.
Hahaha, well that's just not good enough my dear Mark! You need to get your training regime sorted quick style! Aaah, that made me laugh...
Thanks though, much appreciated. I hope it will be perfect. I'm so exhausted from the whole thing! Working like a madman trying to get work done. Getting there though. Pics will be provided...though not of me. God no! Lol.
Thank you Nathalie. I quite like both of them too. Although, the first one is probably my favourite!
Dan! It's great to hear from you! Indeed, Personal life has been pants but there are good things on the horizon, which will rub off personally. I'm really excited about the skills I'm acquiring as I think they will help me immensely in future. There's more to come from these projects, and I'll be posting details as I go along.
The standard of artwork on the Trees For Life is fantastic, and I'd be proud to have my artwork alongside them, and for such an amazing cause.
As for media used in my paintings, I used quite a few: pva glue, salt, rubber erasings, masking fluid (all for texture), watercolours, charcoal, chalk, Indian ink, coloured inks and biro. I think that's all! I'm always on the lookout for new materials to add, even if to find out what effect they have!
Thank you for stopping by and saying hello.
None of that is actually sectarian abuse. I have seen other examples on other pages, and none of those are sectarian either. How can you even put this in the same category as what Neil Lennon has been subjected to? People clearly feel betrayed that he was born in N.Ireland and switched to Rep. of Ireland. I completely understand that some people may feel aggrieved but I don't see him being abused for being Catholic. People are also entitled to voice their opinion if they think that the player is not doing the job they're supposed to, or even their dislike of a player, but I see no sign of sectarianism at play here. Am I wrong here?
Pam thank you! Happy New Year to you too! I'm sorry I haven't been by but I have been so crazy lately with work that I'm getting nowhere near anyone's blogs, but I promise, once I get this backlog I will be back to my normal routine. I hope you have a fabulous 2011!
I'm glad that the painting has had the effect on you that it did on me. It is even better when you see it hanging up in the gallery. I hadn't seen the womb shape that you are talking about, but I'm absolutely certain that this would have been a deliberate ploy of Dali's given that he had depicted the womb before, and he deliberately played on creating illusions. That's what I love so much about his work - the fact that there is so much to see. It's like a puzzle. The painting is on display in Atlanta for the next few days and then it's coming home, so you should be able to see it again very soon. Thank you for coming on and commenting.
Mark! Hi! I like to think we've spoken rather than typed! It's so great to hear from you! I too haven't been on much either, as college has had me swamped. I hope I'm going to get on a bit more now. I hope you have an awesome Christmas dear! Mwah xxx
Wonderful Leslie! I love your first explanation! You've hit the nail on the head. That's what I was trying to aim for. Although, now that I look at it, I absolutely see the two figures...children...looking for Santa! Brilliant on both explanations!
Oh thank you Leslie! I'm so glad that the Turner's appear like Turners! Although, I did struggle with the colours, except on the pastels drawing. They were hard work, but I loved making them.
