derekfernholz.com : WTF Facebook?

I updated the post to include this little gem. I'm seriously, seriously considering the deletion of my Facebook account... I feel that I need to start a movement first and kick them straight in the teeth. The ploy for more click through and having every linkable item become a physical likable item within Facebook just smells of a scheme to get more and more page views from within. I thought we did away with abusing internal linking years ago... guess not.

Um... 5% for helping out, not sure on that one. TechStars for all they do for the startups only takes 6% equity...

I'm currently in the process of finding a job in Boulder and hope to be down by June 1st. I would be more than willing to help out if / when I get down there. I will formally apply when I know more about my actual move. Thanks David again for all you do. I think this is a stellar idea and completely understand the want for it. I was a non-selection this year and would love to still be able to glean a bit of that TechStars excitement and mentorship.

derekfernholz.com : FOWA Miami 2009

With all due respect, I don't see a hashtag as a valid plan for change. It may be a start. I am anxious to see how it turns out. I personally know the power of twitter as it has gotten me a couple of job interviews, a ticket to a tech conference, and a place to stay. But I'm a proponent of diving in headfirst and with all possible vigor. If this were something I thought of, or an agenda I was trying to push. I would, at the very least: - Had a website devoted to it, with information, a form or something of the like for contact on the subject - At the very least, the information plus a simple feed of the #fowaspeak hashtag so people could see / get excited about making the change! I wish you all the luck in this and will be writing up my thoughts on just this issue in the near future to do my little part. Respectfully, Derek

derekfernholz.com : Review: IntenseDebate

Hey Michael - The styling issue wasn't a huge deal, mostly my fault I suppose, not making my list style selectors specific enough. Luckily I know my way around CSS (thanks for the CSS doc link, would've made it easier ;)) I might be 'hacking' around with some of the CSS on here to do some conditional styling - I'll let you know how that goes. All the best, and keep up the great work!
