TechCrunch : You're Damn Right I'm A Fanboy.

Love this! Personally, I prefer the old "if you have nothing nice to say . . ." adage to turning blogs into a bitchfest. I'm all for honesty and either objectivity or a clear declaration of a lack thereof - so I'd rather write about things I love, than spend energy dissing (yeah, I said dissing - not sure of the correct spelling though!) something that just didn't do it for me. (In fact, I think you just made me an MG Fan Girl!)

Fearless Blogger Side Notes : Tumblr Link

Yup - I've read that too. In fact, there's an expression to describe that: "suicide Tuesday". My guess is that that's a bigger issue in frequent and/or unsupervised usage (which most ecstasy use is) Ecstasy was actually initially developed to be used for therapy - the first uses were in couple's counseling. The nature of the drug made it possible for therapists to make breakthroughs in a single session that generally would take months to accomplish without it. Eventually the drug somehow made its way out of the laboratories and into the club scene and was reviewed by the DEA during the "Just Say No" Reagan years. Seems despite recommendations that the drug be classified as Schedule 2, it became Schedule 1 - meaning it has no medical value & is illegal to prescribe. Guess maybe that's been overturned, or the military has different rules? :-)

I figured that was the case! Figured since you had it on your website, you were cool with it being used - I love the amount of personality that shines through in it! (but will post a replacement if you prefer)

I get like that too. I think the key is to remember it's about being heard, not being judged. I think that shifting the perception to "this shows I care about what the blogger said" from "does the blogger care about what I say" motivates me to comment more too.

Community is what it's all about! I'm thinking of taking advantage of the "tweet" option when it's available on comments now. It becomes a way of sharing posts I feel are "comment worthy" with people on Twitter. What do you think?

It's definitely a challenge - I try not to get too hung up on getting comments, but it just feels so good knowing I wrote or posted something comment-worthy. One thought - I see your website is on blogger. I'm not sure what blogger's various comment settings are, but I've found the process to feel a bit cumbersome at times. I've been working to streamline the commenting here (hopefully it's fairly easy) - might be something to check into on yours? Just a thought . . .

Thanks for weighing in on the motrin commercial. Sometimes I feel since I'm not a mother, I risk sounding naive or insensitive if I take a different point of view. I have a hard enough time taking care of myself, much less a child, so I completely respect everything mothers do. And I think the power "mommy-blogging" community is one of the benefits of the way the web has evolved. That said, I don't know that motherhood is so sacred as not to be able to have a sense of humor about it!
