Thanks so much for your review, Bookaholic. I dunno, I think the ending was pretty realistic given how hard Davie worked to become a better person -- most people (including me) definitely don't work that hard at it. And I myself have been rather surprised by a happy ending to certain stories in my life. But I love that you felt it read like a movie. I really wanted readers to walk away with the same feeling I had after seeing SIXTEEN CANDLES for the first time.

I stay wanting cake, but in many ways this would be the best kind of cake for me. I have trouble eating pretty things. That's why I'm a fool for simple sheet cake.

I'm Gud's writing exchange partner and it was very inspiring for me to see all of her pages coming in those last few days. It made me dig in deeper with my own deadlines. I will say that learning to meet my personal deadlines was the most important and hardest thing I've ever done for my career.
