Thanks so much for your review, Bookaholic. I dunno, I think the ending was pretty realistic given how hard Davie worked to become a better person -- most people (including me) definitely don't work that hard at it. And I myself have been rather surprised by a happy ending to certain stories in my life. But I love that you felt it read like a movie. I really wanted readers to walk away with the same feeling I had after seeing SIXTEEN CANDLES for the first time.

BTW, I just put Betty in afternoon daycare. I won't say that this book influenced me to go that route as opposed to a nanny -- Betty's love of other children is the official reason on record. Still...

I'm Gud's writing exchange partner and it was very inspiring for me to see all of her pages coming in those last few days. It made me dig in deeper with my own deadlines. I will say that learning to meet my personal deadlines was the most important and hardest thing I've ever done for my career.
