Hey Matt, sorry for the delay in fixing the zip, I've got it on my list. There is code listed in this post that shows how to use nativeProcessStartupInfo, but my example uses unix style pathing /usr/var/etc. If you're on windows your pathing style needs to look like this : "C:\\\\Windows\\\\System32\\\\PING.EXE" * Notice the double backslashes. Everything else should be the same. Hope this helps.

Eric Fickes : McDonalds' Chicken Nuggets are NOT boneless

Chickens have bones, glad somebody finally explained that to me. What still upsets me is McDonalds getting away with telling the public their nuggets are boneless white meat chicken.

Chickens have bones - yes

Fast food is processed animal parts - yes

Does McDonalds put these warnings on the fun boxes? - No, they shouldn't have to because they only sell boneless white meat chicken nuggets. Right?

I grew up eating McDonalds but my children have not. We just happened to get lucky one night while visiting school friends at the PlayPlace.

It's my opinion McDonalds has the money to serve the \"bone free\" food they market to the masses.

This post is emotional, but it's also my site. Thanks for stopping by.

Eric Fickes : Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'table' in TSQL

The code is correct, but the word \"table\" is a reserved keyword in SQL. I never name my database tables \"table\" so I've never run into this one before.

Do you have any other tables in your database that you can run this code against?

-EF

Yes, you created the Array correctly. However, you created a 2 dimensional array when you probably only need a single dimension array. That is, I would change line 97 to read like this : "ordinalArray = ArrayNew(1);" As for your error about column count not matching, that's exactly what the problem is. Look at your INSERT statement. You have five columns listed, but the values only contain four columns. It appears that you've added ipOrdinal to the INSERT statement, but not tot he VALUES portion of the statement. Hope that makes sense.

If you're looking to store each ordinal in a 2nd array, that should be a simple addition. Create a new array under this line "insertArray	= ArrayNew(1);	// temp array to hold insert values" for your ordinals. Then under this line "ArrayAppend( insertArray, "( '#groupName#', '#_ipPrefix#.#xx#', #ipStatus# )" ); ", put the same thing only for your new array. Something like this "ArrayAppend( ordinalArray, #xx# ); ". Hope that helps.

Hey jlig, this could really go a number of ways, but here's one possible solution. This code takes your ip range and creates one large INSERT statement using MySQL's multi-value insert feature. Hopefully this helps in some way. I've broken it out into two simple files.

form.cfm [coldfusion] < form action="handler.cfm" method="post" > StartIP

EndIP

Status 1 2 3 4

Group

        [/coldfusion]

handler.cfm    [coldfusion]    <cfscript>    // NOTE : just assuming all data is correct from the form    startIP 	= form["startIP"];    endIP		= form["endIP"];    ipStatus	= form["ipStatus"];    groupName	= form["groupName"];        // setup vars for loop processing    xx			= listToArray( startIp, ".")[4];	// first IP in range    _endBit		= listToArray( endIp, ".")[4]; 		// last IP in range    _ipPrefix	= Replace( startIp, ".#xx#", "" );	// trim off the final .999 to get ipPrefix    insertArray	= ArrayNew(1);	// temp array to hold insert values            // loop through ip range and create VALUES list for SQL INSERT    while( xx <= _endBit )    {    	// append each row's value to array    	ArrayAppend( insertArray, "( '#groupName#', '#_ipPrefix#.#xx#', #ipStatus# )" );    	xx++;    }    // convert array to comma delimited list    insert_values = ArrayToList( insertArray, "," );        // cleanup    ArrayClear( insertArray );    </cfscript>            <cfoutput>    < cfquery name="insert_data" result="insert_result" DATASOURCE="#request.dsn#" USERNAME="#request.dbuser#" PASSWORD="#request.dbpswd#" >    INSERT INTO GROUP_IPS ( group_id, ip_address, status )     VALUES    #PreserveSingleQuotes( insert_values )#    </ cfquery >    </ cfoutput >    [/coldfusion]

Emily I'm really sorry to hear that, but glad your daughter is ok. Having gone through this, here's what you'll probably get in return. 1. Fill out forms at McDonalds - pointless 2. The owner of that McD will call, apologize, and then tell you they don't do anything but heat up the food, it's Tyson's fault. 3. Then you'll get some paperwork from Tysons, totally clueless to the situations, and some coupons. Good luck, and enjoy your $10 coupons. :( On the bright side, even my 3 yr old knows why we will never eat at McDonalds again.

Eric Fickes : Coldfusion and ASP.NET coexisting on IIS, where'd WebResource.axd go?

Hmmmm that is a brain puzzler. Removing the mappings via IIS *should* remove the mappings from your application's web.config file. However, if the mappings are showing back up it makes me wonder if it's IIS, ASP.NET, or maybe even Visual Studio re-adding those CFML handler mappings. I'm definitely interested to hear what you find out, and hopefully you'll get straightened out. Keep me posted.

360|Flex Conferences : 360Flex - Conferences aren't dance clubs

My .02 - Any FLASH or creative focused conference will always pull more females than a software centric conference. It's just the nature of the subject matter. - 360Flex needs more females, but I could say this for any technical field. For me, I love 360Flex, and related conferences, specifically for the "dance club" angle. That is, what I get out of conferences is hanging with the community, putting faces with Twitter handlers, extending my own network, and maybe even land some new work. This is what I love about 360Flex. In San Jose I didn't even try to meet people because I was finishing my preso most of the time, and I still met at least ten new people. At 360Flex DC I actually avoided most of the conference because of band duties, or wrapping up my preso. Again, I met at least 10 new people and I didn't put in the effort I should have. So don't slam the "dance club" angle, although I'm digging what you're spreading about not making 360Flex an AXE body spray commercial.
