I have been supportive of the family, but I have to admit going to the gym while your child is missing, alone, afraid makes me really question them. I simply cannot understand it. If my child were missing I can only imagine two types of behavior : 100% involved in the search, walking in the woods myself until my child was found or I would be a puddle on the floor. Of course I do not know how I would really respond, but I am pretty sure I would not be out at the gym. Working out would be the last thing on my mind, if I had a mind left!
