DroidIn : Droidin v. 4.1.4 is out

Hi David, Try to go to www.linkedin.com on your mobile browser and login prior to starting Droidin. If you continue to have problems try to switch to wi-fi or if you are doing it on wi-fi switch to 3G (or whatever level of phone service you have). If it doesn't help let me know Bo Stone

Are you referring to the Android contact that was added after you sync your contacts in Droidin? This actually should happen automatically as Android OS keeps each "raw" contact separately but displays a unified contact based on the first and last name. There are some apps on Android market that allow you to do custom contact syncing based on email or even not related at all

This seems to be local to your phone. Which version of Android OS and which device you are using? The simplest way to provide us with all the details is to send the feedback from your device using "feedback" link at the bottom of the home screen

Mea Cup O' Jo : Android - OAuth updates to Twitter

2-nd is easy. You are using default constructor that does not explicitly set buffer size. It's a warning anyways but you can resolve it by setting buffer size in your code. 1-st may have to do with HTTPS (my gut feeling)

DroidIn : Droidin v. 3.0.4 - Log in with LinkedIn

It sounds like you are trying to create LinkedIn account from your mobile browser using low-resolution device. If so - I suggest to create account using regular computer. Once you have LI account access http://linkedin.com from your mobile browser and log in. After that try Droidin login, you should not even have to enter your uname/pwd but simply click "approve" button

As I said - the way LinkedIn provides updates is incremental, so when you delete a contact app wouldn't know that from the info it can get from LinkedIn

Understand. Maybe I'll add "Delete contact" option for something like this. It will be confusing since the contact will need to be deleted from LinkedIn as well but that can be supplemented with info message

Unfortunately LinkedIn API provides only incremental updates. Your best bet is to do Droidin->menu->settings->clear contacts. Then go to phone->settings->accounts & sync locate Droidin account and remove it. Then click add account and select Droidin. This will take you through setting account and importing contacts. It helps to do it on reliable connection (wifi)

Which version of app are you running? You can't authorize from the browser since the request has to be initiated by the application. When you open the app you should see (in the latest version) big button that say "Login with LinkedIn". Clicking on that should open mobile browser and load the approval page. That page comes from LinkedIn and Droidin has no control over it. If you see the error you may want to try switch to wifi before attempting to login it could be that LinkedIn has some security issue with the network you are using

Hi Ian, Indeed Droidin loads contacts in batches of 40 meaning for each 40 contacts it repeats network call to LikedIn servers. Do you get any error messages? If you send us feedback from within the app then we can try to trace any failures for your phone model in our crash logs

Thanks, Sandeep. You can do it in 2 ways: When viewing the LinkedIn contact in "Contacts" you will see 2 options with lovely blue robot. Clicking on one will take you to the full profile in Droidin. Clicking one with the envelope will pop-up message prompt so you can send direct message to your LinkedIn contact. Alternatively if you click on contacts picture you will get these 2 options in the pop-up badge

Unfortunately LinkedIn blocks out email information from the imported contacts. That's right, user may provide phone number, address but not email, so far all our requests to remove the blocking were unsuccessful

Thanks for your feedback @wutze What are you describing is pretty much how syncing is designed to work. The contact info and that includes image (if available), phone, address, etc (if provided by the contact and except email address that is intentionally blocked by LinkedIn API) are added as so called "raw contact". All that information should appear in your phone book. If it doesn't then it may be related to specifics of your device since some vendors provide customized versions of contacts. Are you saying that when you access your phone book directly you are unable to see images?
