whatdoesjoethink.com : Should Affiliate Managers Care About Traffic Sources?

I don't think the amount of traffic to a site should really matter but the affiliate manager should have a basic idea of where that traffic is coming from since in many ways they are responsible to the merchant for the traffic source. And yeah, I hate it when affiliate managers decline sites if they are small or aren't showing much traffic yet. That makes it hard for anyone to get started.

James Seligman : A Week to Forget

Gotta love it when life gets in the way of work like that. Back in 1994 or so we had a huge ice storm that knocked out power at my house for about a week and then it dropped down below zero for a couple days. That was a very cold week. But now you just get to work twice as hard this week! Things are looking up. My recent post What Joe Is Working On This Week – 1-23-12

whatdoesjoethink.com : 3 Questions To Ask Yourself Before Buying a Domain

I pretty much want to do anything that gives me some sort of time or monetary investment in the site up front. It just bugs me to see so many domains sitting in my account not being used. Kind of like the guy who buys cars with the intention of fixing them up. They usually just end up on blocks in the front yard lowering the property value of everyone in the neighborhood.

Only 3 for 6 this year. Maybe 3.5 since Tricia did win but not for the right category. My dream is a perfect 6-0 season. Maybe I can convince Ceasars to put it on the sports book next year.

Jim Banks : Alternative Guide To Affiliate Summit West 2012

Have a great time Jim. Sorry I will be missing ASW this year. And the Walgreens tip is excellent. Pick up some snacks, drinks, and some Advil. I always get raging headaches in Vegas because of the air conditioning, lack of sleep, and various other factors.
It is awesome that every year we see three candidates so worthy of the Advocate award. There are a lot of people who do a lot of good for this industry every day. Most years it seems there are two big merchants and one little guy. I really hope the Nexus issue harms them and TinyPrints can win the award. I know it probably won't change a thing in the big picture but maybe it will show even one small merchant that if they do things the right way they can have a successful affiliate program without cutting any corners or screwing affiliates.

We are gonna borrow a co-sleeper from some friends and give that a try. Seems like a good option for a couple weeks at least. Still trying to figure out what type of baby carrier to get. There is a store we will be going to this weekend that has a bunch of them and a fake baby to put in them so you can really see what they feel like. I am sure we are gonna end up with a ton of stuff we will never use.

Thanks Christie. Personally I think something like a swaddler would be very uncomfortable. Who wants to be a human burrito? We are trying to decide between a bouncy seat and a swing. Don't think we need both. And eventually we will probably get one of those jumping things.

Can't wait to see Vinny's pic of the street meat in cowboy hats. I love that scholarship idea too. One of those ideas that seems pretty simple when you hear it but I never would have thought about that.
