Exactly! I rarely refer to republicans & democrats......its progressives & conservatives. There are both in each party although there seems to be more progressives in the demo party.

Unfortunately MadCow is correct about the problem of the UN small arms treaty. Please go onto the UN's website, do some research and learn for yourself. Keep an open mind, right now knowing the truth about whats happening is very critical. It may not happen next month, but it opens the door to the possibility for it to be enforced here in the US directly going against our Constitutions 2nd amendment in the future.

Even though I cannot condone or believe anyone would leave 2 kids that age alone, with a candle burning, why are they in jail? Put the kids with other family members or in protective custody, (which I assume they are already) but why should they take up space that a REAL criminal should be. These two are only a hazard to themselves & kids, not the entire community!

Funny...when Glenn Beck says these things, he's labeled as "CRAZY" and a "FEAR MONGER".....People better wake up and get prepared!
Beck has been right on sooooo many things, just by looking at past history and what people are saying right now....One of his "predictions" was that the Muslim Brotherhood would get power in Egypt......well they just got 75% of the power in their Parliament last week! But our government & lamestream media touted that "oh theres no way the MB would even seek any kind of power within Egypt's gvmt".....Wake up Sheeple of America, its going to be a rough road ahead...(check out GBTV.com...tons of info....then go fact check it for yourself)

OK.... agreed...lets let the private sector deal with it JUST LIKE THE LIQUOR STORES....(sorry I know, I brought alcohol into it again) There is sooo much fraud happening there. Allow people to grow enough for personal use, and there wont be any taxes produced, but there wont be any fraud!

we are discussing the legality of it....that why I bring alcohol into the discussion. I believe that if alcohol is legal so should pot. I do not want alcohol to be out lawed, look at prohibition and what it did to our country.
Your comment "And people on marijuana highs take other drugs" sure sounds like an all or nothing statement, so using your reasoning AT LEAST a few of my friends would use harder drugs.

I know of several people who smoke so they CAN get to sleep, and are quite fine in the morning. As far a parenting....just like LEGAL booze, no its not good to be parenting while DRUNK or really heavily stoned. But you know what I can have a drink (or bowl), not be drunk (or whacked out stoned) and be in a better mood to play and spend time with my kids. Its call self control.....remember there is a difference between use and abuse.

Glad to see your living in a "black & white" world. Does that mean if I have a drink, I will become an alcoholic? As far as a drugless life....does that mean caffeine is out, and tobacco, and chocolate too....after all those have drug like effects upon the system too.

not all pot smokers are deadbeats. There are some, agreed, but most are working people (hint...thats how they get the $$ to buy it), who dont like to drink, who need to unwind at the end of the day.

There is a BIG difference between USE and ABUSE!
So people who get drunk don't commit crimes or take other drugs? Does having just one drink make you drunk?
I know several "smokers" who do not use other drugs, now that I'm thinking about it NONE of them use harder drugs, and you know what....they don't drink either....its just how they relax after work.
The reason there is such a large drug trade is BECAUSE its illegal. As much as I hate big government...have the State run it, tax it, control how much one person can buy in a month. This will take away most, but not all of the criminal element.
