Dr. Drew's reflex to blame the father was disappointing because I've come to expect more from the popular physician. It's not always the parents' fault a child acts poorly on her own. I wager she has few role models in the culture, or among her peers, who would advocate verbal self-restraint. On a side note, the village shootout scene in “Hot Fuzz” annoyed me with how anything but bullets fell on the bad guys to take them out. I probably gush about this every year, but “Lifeforce,” another vampire film by Tobe Hooper, deserves to be on such a list. The stunning vampires don't go all “Lost Boys” (a movie I like) by trying to be the proto-goth cool kids, and the picture can appeal to both sci-fi and history nerds alike!
