I don't think games should necessarily be cinematic though. To me, the game that gets what games should be right is Bioshock. Bioshock is a game which takes the trademark of games (interaction) and uses it to enhance the story. Games need to use interaction as a driving element, and not just add in the odd cutscene or use story as an excuse to get to the action. The ending of Bioshock has a revelation that I found extremely satisfying in very odd ways, that made you question everything YOU had done in the game.
