Why should we or they be surprised? The hallmark of progressivism/liberalism is magical thinking, a victim mentality, and blaming everyone else for one's problems instead of owning them and dealing with them. Our current president displays these traits on almost a daily basis.

Actually, I live in NJ (unfortunately, although we did elect a VERY promising governor). I'm just trying to explain the shift down there. They probably helped get this jerk in office.

I empathize with the locals down there who have to put up with the "progressive" northern imports.

This is what happens when northeastern "progressives" wreck the areas they live in, move to saner, conservative, and therefore, less-expensive areas, and then espouse the same nonsense that wrecked where they used to live in the first place. Charlotte has become New "New Jersey".
