dreamloom | a modern cahiers du television: deep thoughts on a shallow medium. : Mad Men and the problem with shallow readings

That's an excellent point. I'd failed to consider Don's own history servicing clients and the talent. Cast in that light, it might well be more a comment on Don's business-first mentality.

dreamloom | a modern cahiers du television: deep thoughts on a shallow medium. : Psych: "Mr. Yin Presents"

You know, I hadn't considered that he'd done that all three times. Nice point. We can rest assured that as long as Roday and Maggie Lawson are dating in real life, the plan is to get Shawn and Juliet together in the end. I'd be deeply surprised if not.

I agree about that, and the notion that information should be free. But unless we're going to fundamentally reshape society, education, and access. And unless you have a solution for those who are less intelligent or otherwise less capable to seek out and *understand* the information given, there's always a place for the greedy to con the masses. I think most people know they shouldn't send money to help Nigerian princes (the old Spanish prisoner con) and yet people do. Just because the information is available doesn't mean people will avail themselves - or be *capable* of availing themselves - of it.
