Intense Debate : Automattic Acquires IntenseDebate

Days and days late to the party, but congratulations, guys! I've been off ID for a while on my Blogger blog, but I still think you've got a great product. I'm looking forward to seeing how things work with the automattic integration. That should really be tight. I just launched a new hosted wp blog and would signed up for an invite code, but I wouldn't rush to give me one. I need to get some traffic before it would be truly worthwhile. Anyway, congratulations!

Pah. You're just pissed because you're stuck between voting for a Mormon who spends more on hair gel than a salon and an evangelical who likes letting rapists out of jail.

Not all Kongs are indestructible. Our Aussie can trash the red ones in twenty or thirty minutes. The black Kongs, however, even she can't mangle.

Thanks, Jorge. I probably should check my vitriol a bit more, but sometimes I just can't contain it. There are some stupid, stupid people in this world.

Coyote Squirrels Random Musings : If everyone could see the things that I hear

I can see a whole industry popping up around sex toys that take advantage of the tongue's high concentration of touch receptors and "electrically conductive fluid". Obviously, it's not just the tongue.

I can also see game controllers using the new tech, but that's not nearly as amusing.

Gwen Bell Dot Com | Heart of the Start : Women in Tech are the Hairy Armpits of the 21st Century

In my 15-ish years in tech I've found (and I hate to generalize) that there are a few IT roles toward which women often trend: DBA; tech writing; QA; project management. There are certainly plenty of high-powered female engineers, but most of them seem to have come out of EE programs instead of CS or MIS programs.

I might be wrong, but I'd guess that more women go through MIS programs than CS programs, and those do NOT produce good engineers. Those produce project managers and future MBAs. I'd assume the 26% number you're seeing is all-inclusive across IT. You're just not going to see DBAs, QA engineers, managers, PMs, etc. showing up at conferences as they're too busy working; therefore, the software engineers get to go out and play.

Sorry for rambling (and sorry for any perceived sexism in my comments,) but I don't really have enough time to put my thoughts together more coherently.

Coyote Squirrels Random Musings : Tastebook.com

I watched the videos, and from what I gathered you get 100 recipes for that price. And...even if you order your book with only 30 recipes in it, you've got another 70 banked that can be ordered later. Since it's a spiral bound book, you get those later recipes in the mail and just insert the pages into the book. All in all, pretty damn cool.

Speaking of which, I was thinking of doling out a few of my recipes here in the blog ('cause, you know, I'm not unfocused enough here.) Any interest in that?

I hate when the Internet acts funny. I paid a lot of money for it to go to a good school and become a doctor, but all it wants to do is "work" on its standup routine. If you can call sleeping in til noon and eating Cocoa Puffs while watching Dr. Phil "work".

You're not the only one with WATW stuck in your head. And this the day after I started catching up on "Pushing Daisies" and heard the Chenowith/Greene duet on "Birdhouse in your Soul". *That* should be stuck in my head, not these douchebags.

Intense Debate Forums : Bug Reporting

Logged in this morning and the email/password fields had been blanked out. No problem, I just retyped them. Apparently, I've forgotten my password. I requested a reset, the temporary password came to my inbox within seconds, and I was able to log in.

What I can't figure out is where to go to change my password. I don't know if my eyes just keep eliding over it, but I've looked throughout my profile and edit profile tabs, have checked the header and footer, and even looked at my blog tabs. No luck. Is it missing, or am I just blind to it this morning?
