Well I have lived in Chattanooga now 10 years but i was born and raised in southern California. Differences just a few..... In cali the churches either are large or hidden. meaning either you have mega churches or you have a church that meets in a middle school.... In California denominations aren't that big of a deal... pretty much Calvary Chapels or churches that sprung off of a Calvary chapel rule the standard. In California going to church isnt the expected in the south "what church do you go to " is as common as saying " Hi whats your name". But honestly the people in the south tend to not be as genuine or as solid as the people in California. And i hate avocados now California oranges are mighty tasty

Easter is our Victory!

Before I let my oldest son watch Star Wars the first time I put a biblical spin on the movies. When you get in to it its totally connects. Why are all boys lovers of legos and star wars? It seems from the ages of 5 - 30 all boys/men love star wars and legos? us women need to find away to make these things work to our advantage . Maybe the divorce rate would go down. Men never get tired of Legos and Star wars. um??????

My story is sad to say the least. I grew up in southern California. my grandpa was a southern baptist preacher of a small church in so cal. There wasn't many church goers simply because in the land of Calvary Chapels there wasn't(at least at the time) a lot of southern baptist especially ones that where still young enough to have kids my age. So Palm Sunday consist of my fancy piano playing grandma( think along the lines of TBN meets Mrs. Olson from little house on the prairie) who would after sharing the story of palm sunday via the "fuzzy board " as i called it. She would then have me and my two cousins and if we where lucky two other children walk around singing" onward christian solders" waving our "birds of paradise branches" that she made us cut out of her front lawn the day before. till this day i have issues with my kids taking part in any palm sunday branch waving activities

I home school two out of my three children. In school they have to memorize a proverb a week. This also was their first year for Awana as well. They totally smoked pass every other child there. We still have over a month to go and they have already learned all their verses in two books. The leaders have no other books ( well except just handing them the bible ) for them to learn. I don't know if it was the shares that motivated or their mother tell thing them they had to learn them to prove to all the baptist that "yes" I can be a good mother and christian and have purple and pink in my blond and black hair. What ever the motivation they have the truth written on their hearts. And honestly I learned a great deal more verses myself.

My sister after an experience with a leprechaun is extremely scared of anything leprechaunish. Now as her younger sister She tortured me for years with nightmare on elm street. Any chance she had to scare the crap out of her innocent sweet younger sis she took it. I still till this day have issues over it..... So when this happened. I jumped all over it and still do. When the leprechaun movies came out , she worked at a famous restaurant in l.a. where for st. pattys day they had a person dressed up like the scary leprechaun hang out at the restaurant. once this leprechaun discovered he scared my sis the game was on. She was tortured her whole shift by this thing. So till this day I scare her with leprechauns . Pay back .... Got to love it
And I thank leprechauns everyday for giving me this opportunity to right a wrong........
