Ronald Reagan slashed taxes and created 16 million jobs in his presidency proving that low taxes lead to high growth. I'm sorry but you have conflated prosperity and high taxes. There are many reasons why we would go through a time of prosperity despite high taxes. But you cannot beat a recession with high taxes and excessive regulation.
