That's cool actually... I still dislike how they pull images from the post... they say they take the first image in source but that's not always true. For http://UpChuck.us I got tired of the way it worked and always pulling the sidebar image... I wrote a WordPress plugin so that opengraph would take the featured image regardless if it was on the page or not... And also for the fact that likes didn't add that added meta data on the FB wall I've been using "FB share" instead... So I'll have to revisit my plugin and which FB button I'm going to use. That obviously is extreme and you're getting to Terminator type recognition awareness and artificial intelligence. But ultimately I believe, in a VERY generalized statement, that is where 'search', as we know it currently, is going. Initially a human is unaware of what a "john lennon" is until it is taught what a "john lennon" is. When I'm coding and doing on-site SEO I'm trying to explain what my content is so that it can be systematically organized in many different ways as to be located when said human would like to allocate said image. Honestly what I think you and what most people inevitably 'hate' about SEO, like any other thing, is the fact that it's not easily definable nor understood by the majority. Everybody hated CSS when it came out... said you'd never need anything but tables, but what it did was start to help organize the information and separate content from appearance formatting and allowed reusable object to help processing power in turn loading pages faster, hence the "optimization". It doesn't help either that SEM is confused with SEO... and the amount of "experts" in the field that honestly don't know what the fuck they're doing. I deal with burned clients all the time - but eventually they start to see that a mistake in selection was their problem, not the science they thought they were getting. At this point I wonder if saying "hate the player not the game" is appropriate? eh probably not. I digress.
