"Turn the other Cheek!" I'm sorry but I've run out of cheeks! Under this administration I've completely lost the cheeks I sit down on. I know this is an importent issue for Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, and Women's rights groups, but to me fundamentally this is a huge Constitutional issue! We are screaming about our personal hot buttons, when we have a government, dedicated to turning our Constitution into toilet paper.
This document was designed to keep the Government out of our personal and religious lives, yet like the Camel's nose in the tent, we've allowed the Government to almost completely dictate how we live, what we do, and what we can say.
I'm pleading with everyone. If we continue to allow the Government to incrementally destroy who we are, and what we stand for, Conservative, or Liberal. Eventually we won't be either, Just peasants and serfs for a new Political Royalty. You may cheer when the other side gets a poke in the eye, but don't forget that any victory, can include the loss of another freedom, another lost choice, another incremental step driving us down into Serfdom.

"Compromise.... until after the election." I'm sorry, but what makes the American Catholic leadership, believe that this won't change right back if Obama gets re-elected. Notice that it already has been bumped back until 2013. It give plenty of time for the President to change his mind again.
Old saying "Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!" Sounds like the Catholic leadership is suffering from battered wife syndrome. I'm sorry, but it seems very stupid to me, to trust this president to keep his word on anything!

Thanks, for some fire this cold morning! What I'm worried about is other than on the blogs, you are not seeing any public support for the Tea Party. I know it's cold, nasty and we all need to work, but we need go be vocal, public and loud this year, or we are all going down with the ship. If we're not careful. We won't be able to do a thing about who the Rupublicans run for a candidate. Tea Party members need to be a very large part of the Republican Convention. We also need to inform the "99% OWS crowd" just who is the "99%". Tea Party Members, Get out! Get loud! Defend your beliefs!

When are the Conservative (Not Republican) leadership going to stand up and Rally around One candidate to go up against Romney? I'm sorry if I offend any Romney supporters, but I'm VERY suspicious of any candidate, the media, John McCain, and the New England moderates support.

I'm afraid that we are going to get a candidate in Mitch, that will run a McCain type campain and get handed his head. The press and the Republican establishment "Picked" our candidate in 2008 and look what it got us! I know it's politically expedient to not rock the boat, but if we continue to be wimps, we may soon find our "boat" is named the Costa Concordia. Conservatives have only a few choices. 1. Start a third party, which could not do anything but insure four more years of Obama. and maybe 20 more years of Democratic control. or 2. Loudly, Vocally, and Constantly push the current Republican party back to the Conservative values that the party was founded on. Or 3. Sit on our hands and watch our Freedom slip away, until we will no longer be able to do anything but watch our country fall into Socialism, or a Dictatorship.

Why are Conservatives acting like such Wimps? A recent poll showed that the largest block of people in the country are Conservatives (40%), but we act like we're the French underground in WWII. We are hiding in our homes and complaining about every new loss of freedom that the current administration and congress take from us.

We are allowing the Press, Republican Moderates, and the Democrats chose our candidate. We allow OUR candidates to be crucified by the media and and then proceed to pile on them because they aren't perfect. Lord, I just want to scream not just at the Government and the Republican leadership, but at all the Conservatives, (myself included) for not standing up in public and defending what we believe in.

Our Republican leadership and many of our candidates are declaring we need to "compromise", and "work across the aisle". You don't discuss what to do when you are headed for a cliff! Change directions! Fast!

Does anyone know if this new legislation provides amnesty to any insider trading done prior to its passage? If so, I would oppose it also. It would allow our "dear leaders" to be givin a pardon for breaking existing law.
