Catskill Cottage Seed : Preserving the bubble

I think I sense your meaning if your thinking of how shy some
introverts can become in later years. If the imaginal is but an
escape from the world, then it has been denigrated to the level of a
drug...

...I always appreciate the pun as I'm so lame with them. Thanks for
throwing it into the mix, it's actually an interesting insight.

Catskill Cottage Seed : ...persist

In many ways Jeb, the community that is gathering, (and again I'll
mention the film I viewed last week: Bab' Aziz)...the community will
be of those who arrive through persistence at the gathering which has
no predetermined location or date. While at time the paradox of
immediacy these tools put into our hands contrasted with the pace at
which community evolves is perhaps a sign that things are moving in
the right direction. Where there is paradox, there the mystery of
life.

Catskill Cottage Seed : Countering Tendency

I've come to the realization that it's only by asking the difficult questions that we get to the heart of our dilemma. To question the status quo does not take much effort, but to question the structures our own "security" is tied into is where we need to show more courage as a culture.

Catskill Cottage Seed : Raising Digital Natives

Your sense that the system will strip away the creative potential is
valid. It's strange how embedded the puritanical sense of utility
shapes the system, whereas the pragmatic posture of usefulness widens
out (while building upon the same base no doubt), into a recognition
that meaninfulness, not productivity, is the bottom line issue...

You live a countercultural reality which I believe is the dawn of the
culture to come. Riding our interest through time and space...so
whaty kind of economic system could bring that posture to the masses?

...Exactly, a similarity of pattern, if not details, or details if not
pattern. The recognitions can fire in a multitude of ways. To you
insightful sense of centering, I'll add another complementary idea,
and that is one of finding the out circumference. Where it really get
\"peculiar\" is when these to opposing realities seem to be taking place
simultaneously...

Good point Fred. It's got so much of the \"gold rush\" metality bound
up with it, and in the end, most of the activity around generating
this behavior equates to \"salting\" the mine...that's when, as I
learned from Lon Woodbury out in Idaho earlier this summer, when
they'd use a shotgun to scatter gold fragments into an area and create
a buying frenzy to the ususpecting greenhorns...

I've done pretty well over the years building up my shelves at used
bookstores. Earlier this summer I decided to pull the trigger on the
Collected Works. Its was a bit like Christmas in July.

That means a great deal to me Matt. It's been an interesting time of focus for me as I'm about to start my Jungian studies next week down in the city.. Getting things "right" here before that journey begins has been a top priority. As ususal, most of that consists of attitude and practice...
