A friend at work has an old 3G iPhone which we updated today to iOS 4.2.1 it has baseband 5.15.04 we used redsn0w version 0.9.9b5 which was perfect and we then installed Ultrasn0w 1.2.4

It says searching all the time and doesnt find a network

What have we done wrong lol

All done and working thanks everyone he now has a 3GS iOS 5 unlocked !!!!!

I have a friends iPhone 3GS here its on an old baseband you cant unlock and iOS 4.3, I want to upgrade to iOS 5 for him and install the iPad baseband so we can use Ultrasn0w to unlock it.

Not really sure how to go about this things change so fast also hear issues from some on 3GS's with iPad baseband would be interested to know if these are normal or one off's

I think you missed the point no matter what I do iReb redsn0w pwnage I end up at connect to iTunes seems like a recovery loop but iReb doesn't help

Should also say we have shsh blobs back to 4.0

I've been sent a friends iPhone yes he messed with it but I kind of promised I could sort it out.

I've tried DFU and PwnageTool 4.1.3 also new redsn0w with the “Deactivate” option iReb well all kinds

All I ever get it back to Connect to iTunes logo its driving me MAD to be honest.

Any help at all would be great guys

Best course of action for this one or should I run the entire BBUpdaterExtreme process to make sure?

I'd like to get his phone to 4.2.1 if possible

MMmmmmm Reason 2 is a big one 4 less so but all the same helps, 1 never had a problem 3 dont play any games lol.

Updated iPad to 3.2.2 and Limera1ned it very happy.

Can't think of a good reason to update my iPhone 4 to 4.1 thinking I should wait for 4.2 to drop does anyone disagree, have a good reason to bother with the update to 4.1?

As you were told above follow the instructions in Limera1n I did the same as you on a spare XP box I have which wasnt setup to sync any of my devices or authorised for any of them or apps store.

Just follow the Limera1n instructions on any XP box as long as the latest version of iTunes is installed
