Texas Startup Blog : Startups and Obama: radioactive this year!

I'm a bit of a political oddball, but I enjoy a good debate as much as (ok, probably more than) the next person. It's difficult to maintain one's composure when the other person you're debating with is more interested in scoring points than making one.

Okay. This is working, but unless I'm signed in I cannot see anyone else's comments. Is that a glitch, or is it a feature? :)

Intense Debate made a pretty shrewd move when they posted a script on their home page that allows people to "test drive" the application on their sites before they installed it.

If you'd like to try it, use the code at http://www.intensedebate.com

Intense Debate is letting you test out their script without installing it on your site.
IntenseDebate Blog : Intense Debate Integrates Twitter

This is nice. However, it requires special knowledge to use effectively. It works for Scott Jangro (above), but not Jeby, and not an anonymous user like Lola, but it doesn't explain why. The thumbnail does not not seem to afford a hover state (or a click, for that matter). There may be a better way to handle this so it's clear what happens.

It's just too bad all blogs don't work this way. I took ID down a few months back when my readers were having some significant problems with it, but with the changes you've made, it may be time to revisit.

Trying to comment in Explorer on my blog is causing an "Invalid userid" message, even though I'm properly logged in.

I do not get the same message on a Mac running Firefox.

Intense Debate commenting doesn't seem to work on Safari.

I need to get the IE issue fixed rapidly, or else I have to uninstall.
GeekBrief.TV : Anticipating Kindle

I did not see information about the books being backed up on Amazon, so that's great to see. However (and this is a minor point), the website says the dictionary is built-in, not online (There is Wikipedia information available, though).

ChaosScenario :

Phil - Thank you for your input. What I'd REALLY like to do is make the content column fluid, but I'm a bit CSS challenged, and I'm not sure how to do a variable width without messing up the way the banner looks. Plus, when I tried, the vertical rules did not stick with the two right columns.

I will need to do this eventually, as the new content column width is smaller than the old one, which will cause some problems with older posts that made use of the entire space.

If you know how I can overcome these issues quickly, I welcome your input.

Thank you - I removed the calendar for now, as it doesn't appear as if it adds any value.

The Dallas skyline thing is my feeble attempt to demonstrate some unifying theme for all three contributors.

I was going for something unique and meaningful in a limited amount of time. I'm not sure it's right, but it's at least right now. :)

I've asked my brother for some design help, but I'm not sure if it's going to happen anytime soon.
