Let me know if you have any WordPress questions. I do a lot of WordPress development including plugins, themes, and full websites. I am also one of the organizers for WordCamp Seattle. I'd be glad to help with any questions you have as you make the transition.

Brad,
Some of the angel investment groups you address in your criticism (and mentioned in the NYT article) have advertisements showing up in the Google text ads on this post.

I appreciate it when I leave a sermon thinking, "Ah, here's something practical I can do." I enjoy it just as much when I leave thinking "here's an aspect of my life I can reexamine based on today's teaching."
Relevancy is an issue, but I don't believe pastors or churches should cater towards meeting the world's expectations and follow every whim and trend.
However, I think it's easy for pastors to forget the world, country, and city they're living in and be out of touch with the people they're preaching to if they don't spend time actively engaging them. If by spending time with the people of their congregation and community the pastor is better able to explain scripture in terms the listeners will understand, everyone is better off.
