Actually the Sports Director Job was not filled, I was told Mark Johnson would oversee the Sports Department in addition to his current duties, so yes at the Moment KTVB's Sports Director Position has been eliminated. I am sure once things get back on track they will look to hire someone full time to that position. Bottom Line losing the broadcasts of Bronco Sports had to be a the motivating factor in the Layoffs

My intent was not to be nasty or hurtful. I for sure think it is terrible that he lost his job. I think David had to do a lot of crap on KTVB that he should never have had to do. I further think KTVB should have, like many other companies have the backbone to keep people around. I poked a little fun at future career moves. If I have offended you in any way please accept my sincere apology. I will try to better next time and I am sure Karma is always after me.

Have not heard of this information. Any Links? I do know Bob was well aware of the fact the deal in all likelihood would have been for just 2 years, as BSU will source, radio, TV and advertising to a third party then sell the production to local media outlets for viewing. Similar to what Idaho does currently.

It is a double edge sword for sure during this econmic time, but these things have been building for years. However, looking at the short term rather than thinking long term may come back to bite them. When the pick 3 mini packs are back for football games, BSU Athletics will look back on these times and realize they shouldn't have pumped the well dry so soon.

Ok, I have been in shock for the last few hours. Emailed Kevan this morning to see what was up with the site being down. Get home and Kevan has announced his Bret Farve retirement. Being a blogger takes quite the effort. Speaking for myself I have never made a dime doing it. With that said OBNUG set the bar very high last year for the rest of us. I am heading into my four year of Blogging and Podcasting Boise State Football and though it may not feel like it a part time job on top of my full time job. OBNUG creativity and energy was amazing. I am sad to see you go OBNUG. I wished we blogger could collaborate and become something bigger. That however could be just as much if not more of an effort. To the gang at OBNUG thanks for all the laughs and all the insight. It was a wild ride and the door is always open for a round table podcast any time.
