It really is. It always amazes me what they say and how observant they are. It will definitely be interesting to see how their generation deals with all these new trends we've imparted upon them. I worry about it too because even I see a difference in how my generation was raised versus how it's acceptable for me to raise my kids now. Like playing outside is a huge one I remember. We were unsupervised and explored for hours. Only came inside during the summer for meals and bed. We can't let kids do that now for fear of child abduction or worse. Children really only get outside to play when their parents have time (which we don't have a lot of) to supervise play.....and exploring isn't exploring when mom is tagging along lol. I understand the necessity, but it still seems sad.

I'm really proud of you for publishing that. It must have taken a lot of courage even to write those words.

Thanks for stopping by the blog ^_^. I have (sadly for me because I enjoyed it) stopped having a structured schooling environment for them. I noticed they were getting antsy and wanted more time for play. SO I haven't stopped teaching them, but it's more or less teaching them through play and story time. After naps Vera works through her little alphabet book & Naomi just colors. I work with her on lines and shapes ^_^. There's a routine, but I hide the learning lol. I don't think Vera was ready for a very focused curriculum yet.
Thank you too for all the different Halloween remedy suggestions. Our church didn't really offer anything, but next year I will definitely look around at surrounding churches. That sounds like an much better alternative. We enjoy going to get pumpkins too ^_^. I think emphasizing "fall"/changing of the seasons rather than Halloween is definitely a change we will be making.

Hehe that always happens to me right after movies.I even swore off soda for this movie so I wouldn't have to get up in the middle of it, but alas I think they just make movies too long these days lol.

Thank you :). I always find myself making weird parodies of things. I may have to take you up on your offer of testimony lol. When that boy gets comfortable he's hard to budge lol.

I <3 Sheryl Crow....we were just at Mustang Island over the weekend and I tried to get Matt(hubbie) to jam out to her w/ me lol, but I got vetoed by the Beach Boys o.0.

Good, I'm glad you took some time for yourself ^_^! What a great movie to kick back and watch too hehe.

I checked out Goodreads when it first came out onto the "internet scene", but made a judgement call not to join since I would probably spend more time adding books to a list of things I wanted to read instead of actually reading hehe. I know my limitations :(...I'm a list addict lol...it's the same problem I currently have with Netflix; giant que of things to get too and not enough time.

No, don't be sorry. Thank you! It's so nice to receive feedback. I had come to accept that my readers weren't commentators and was pleasantly surprised to come back from vacation today to two good comments from yourself.

I am going to encourage you to start writing something else, and not to touch it for a while ^_^. It's really working wonders for me. It's providing some fresh perspective. It's rejuvenating the joy of writing for me since I'm able to create new characters/plot instead of work on the one I've created which I too feel like not touching. Now that my husband is almost finished reading it/critiquing it I feel that I'll be ready to move forward with it.

The weekly me time came from both my husband and I realizing I was burnt out. With two demanding kids, demanding husband lol, goofy pug, fish, and recently added to the zoo hermit crabs it was just becoming too much. Even when I'd partake of my hobbies during down times in the day there was no escaping the daily grind. I think just getting away can be valuable for everyone, not just a stressed out mom lol. I wish I would have started doing it before I hit a boiling point. I think everyone in my household would have been happier for it lol ^_^.
