Celebration Life : Snow!

It's one of those you-can't-miss-it kind of things once you get into town. If you need something for the GPS, you should be able to use 600 Market St, 34747.

Celebration Life : Our introduction to Celebration

It’s not that common for gators to be in the neighborhoods, and besides, this was a really little guy. He freaked when he saw me and ran off. You will definitely see gators sunning themselves by the various lakes, but everyone leaves everyone else alone. Netting would probably cause problems for all the other critters… birds, ducks, river otters, etc.

Personal plug: I’m a licensed real estate agent so let me know if I can help you find a home here. J
Celebration Life : Celebration Easter Egg Hunt 2011

Hahah, yeah it's not so much about the hunting as it is opening all the eggs at the end to see what's inside. Which is a new concept to me, as we did the boil and color thing when I was growing up.

Celebration Life : Celebration AMC movie theater gone, what now?

The high rent is what kills any possible art house type theater. I believe the best formula would be to show movies that appeal to a mass audience while at the same time complementing (not competing with) what's showing at AMC Pleasure Island. Not that there isn't a place for independent or foreign films, it just can't be the bread and butter because the rent's too high to make the numbers work. I think it'd be a cool place for company meetings, conferences, and the like (at least during the day using one of the theaters) to boost revenues. Out-of-towners could stay in Mona Lisa or Celebration Hotel, fantastic restaurants are right there, and the whole experience would be less impersonal than a chain hotel along the interstate.

I work from home as well in a job where Internet is essential. We use Comcast and have had good luck with it, both in terms of speed and reliability. Otherwise, DSL is available through SmartCity.

I clicked Approve on both of your comments, and haven't yet deleted any comments on this site, so I won't be stifling opinions here.
Liana - I don't think that's what Chinasam was saying. The key part of that sentence is the 'people feel' part. From the troubled person's perspective, it may seem as if they're all alone in the world, when in reality there is a supportive network around that person who either don't know the depth of their hopelessness or are simply powerless (despite herculean efforts) to convince them otherwise.

Unlike Chinasam or Jerrad, you haven't really said anything useful. Instead of attacking my personal views, isn't your time better spent sharing your opinion of him? I said that I don't understand why he made his choice... I judge the action, not the man. By my own admission, I never met the man, so take what I say with a grain of salt then. I'm not the cold person you would paint me as. After all, you don't even know me. And I think the ship has sailed on protecting his children from coverage of the event.

Yeah, I wasn't completely sure how to handle that, so I tried to use a few disclaimers. I don't think we'll ever know the full story -- friends of his won't want to dirty his name after-the-fact -- but from the image he put forward in the only venue I knew him in, the Front Porch, he seemed decent enough.

bbhart.com : Pine nut problem

Normal taste is slowly returning. Omelet and salads taste especially bad, which is a shame since that's about 2/3 of what I eat these days. Kielbasa, string cheese, and Diet Coke still taste normal.

Celebration Life : Celebration AMC movie theater gone, what now?

The fact that businesses need to make money didn't necessarily go without saying on the Front Porch, that's why I wanted to try to make it clear. There was a lot of hand-wringing and "how could they do this?!"; the answer seemed obvious to you and me but seems that it wasn't to some other people. I'm not saying it has to play controversial or artsy foreign flocks, but the theater has to realize they'll have a damn hard time competing with Pleasure Island 24... and that's even before the upgrades that are going on there. So they need to provide something that can't be found in a 10 mile radius or so. Decent movies, better-than-decent food & drinks, and decent parking (at least compared to the Downtown Disney cluster).

http://www.jeffnolan.com/blog/ : United Airlines: Conditioning Your Customers to Expect Less

"[I]n that “good” is only a measure of distance to the next worst option". Nicely stated, and very true. I had it with United years ago when I discovered that it seems like their corporate cultured valued easy lies over uncomfortable or unpopular truth.
