Free Enterprise works fine. The reason Medical costs have gone up is because so long as someone else pays the bill, there's no reason to try to save money.

Medicine and medical care are not rights, they are goods and services provided by our fellow humans. Demanding they provide for us or work for us at whatever we're willing to pay is a form of slavery. When the government takes over any sector of medicine, the cost will go up and the quality of service will go down because everyone resents enforced servitude.

Let people be responsible for their own health care. Instead of using Insurance for a doctor's visit, pay cash and save Insurance for catastrophic need. It's much cheaper overall, (for you _and_ the doctor!) and tightening the belts of the Insurance Companies will force them to actually compete for customers rather than having customers asigned by Government Programs.

It doesn't help to have term limits if the only candidates come from the same old parties. What we need is a way to vote out the bums without replacing them with more bums. It's time for The Voter's Veto.

With The Voter's Veto every election has a "None of the Above" choice, and should NotA win, a new election is held, with all of the previous candidates disqualified from running in it. This will allow 'good' politicians to stay in office no matter their party loyalties, while enabling the electorate to reject candidates without having to vote for someone worse.

Once the parites lose the ability to hijack offices simply by eliminating the competition with big bankrolls we'll see government more responsible to We The People. It will allow community members to run for office without need of giant campaign contributors, serve a term, then go back to their farm, factory, or business.

If you want Citizen Politicians instead of Career Politicians, demand The Voter's Veto!

My hope is to slap them in the face with a simple, cheap, and effective solution, and to advertise the solution far and wide so that they can't later claim there was no alternative.

Doing nothing at all is better than what they have on the table now.

Geoat, it's a fairly common 'debate' tactic among the progresive left: toss so many half-truths and inuendos and false reports cited as fact that the opponent has to get bogged down in hours of boring detail to refute them, while never being allowed to make his own point on the original topic. You see it every time a Progressive gets caught in a debate, the response is, 'You didn't object when Bush did it!" (I did,) or, "Anyone opposed to Health Care Reform is a tool of the Big Insurance/ scapegoat of the day."

It's disingenuous and it's a tactic intended to hide the fact that their argument has no fundamental merit to support it.

Health Care Reform? By giving the taxpayer's money to Big Insurance and Big Health Care? They are the cause of the problem, they can't fix it. There's a better way:
1) Forgive the student loan payments of medical practicioners who work in blighted areas or understaffed specialties.
2) Pay the lease for medical facilities in blighted or underserved areas.
3) Offer equipment grants or loans to buy medical diagnostic equipment in regions which can demonstrate need.
Without adding a single new bureaucrat, this plan uses the resources of the already existing Student Loan Program, the Health Departments of each state, and the Small Business Administration to accomplish it's goals. The Obama plan tries to spread a single pat of butter on everybody's toast, this plan makes more butter.
When you saturate a market with service providers the cost of that service drops. When you restrict access to competitors and add layers of bureaucracy the cost goes up. Health Insurance is useless if you can't find a doctor, but with this plan, even those without insurance will be able to afford Health Care.

Tell your senators.

Pappy, the kids today are the result of years of public school indoctrination. They believe Government can solve all their problems because that's what they have been taught. We now have an example of the failures of big government to show them.

If you want to scare the hell out of politicians, simply teach those around you. Your kids, grandkids, neighbor's kids, whoever you see. Ask them to justify Big Government's failures, then tell them of a time when the shining beacon on the hill was America, not because we served the government, but because the government served us. Tell them it can be that way again, if they stop believing the propaganda and learn the truth for themselves.

Teach a kid to memorize and he can pass a test, teach him to think and he can succeed in life. Mistakes are a learning opportunity, and boy do we have a learning opportunity today! As was famously quoted: "Let no crisis go unexploited." Teach!

I'm not Old Marine, but I too served. I was fortunate in never having to face bullets, but I saw the character of those who serve and I was impressed. Our military is the best informed and most patriotic segment of our population, and they have a high degree of civic responsibility. We who served took an oath to serve and defend the Constitution from all threats, foriegn _and domestic_ and this includes politicians who usurp powers never granted them by the Constitution. Rest assured, should BO ever order Marines, or anyone lese, to shoot civilian protestors such as happened in Iran, he would be the one in need of cover. The Democrats need to realize we who serve know our Constitution, and we know the limits of the power _we_ granted _them_. If they've forgotten, we can always remind them.

Reparations has nothing at all to do with justice for past crimes, and everything to do with maintaining hatred between the races. Were it not for rascism, candidates who run on ethnicity would have nothing to run on, and their greed and manipulative hypocricy would be exposed for what it is.

The entire issue of Reparations has only one purpose: to fan the flames of rascism. An issue that should die with my generation is being passed along for the sole purpose of maintaining power over the victims. It's cynical, hypocritical politics at it's worst, and I am ashamed of Americans who participate in it.

On Saturday I am going to erect a flagpole in my front yard. I will then raise a brand new Old Glory, beneath which I am going to grill hamburgers and tell the story of 1776 to all of the neighbors who pass by.

Were I a Californian, I'd demand everyone I vote for accept no more than $1 a year until they get the mess they created straightened out. If they aren't willing to take the hit, then they are not ready to do the hard work of reform anyway.
