I respect your opinion but I think that's a non-issue: Google as well as other applications can easily mask e-mail addresses on the presentation layer.

Right, Chromium OS is a developer release, not intended for the end user.
I see two different markets: mobile smart phones and netbooks. Android is and will be the preferred OS for smart phones while Chrome OS will be the preferred OS for netbooks.
Of course I might be wrong. :)
