Big Hollywood : Desperate Oprah Tweets Request to Watch OWN, 'Especially If You Have a Nielsen Box'

I used to have a Nielsen box. I wish I still had it so I could not watch Oprah's network and feel like I was accomplishing something important.

Big Government : Ohio: Self-Proclaimed 'Tea Party' Candidate Doesn't Know Who Andrew Breitbart Is?

While it may be possible to not know who Andrew Breitbart it, it's just plain stupid to attempt to smear your opponent with a connection to Breitbart when you haven't bothered to find out who Breitbart is. Kraus doesn't even know what he's accusing his opponent of, and that is inexcusable.

Let's say that Kraus is a true conservative who's been operating in the dark and just doesn't interact with other conservatives who have clued him in to the conservative websites. I suppose I could accept that. What I can't accept is candidate who is too lazy or too stupid to do any research on his opponents. Not knowing who Breitbart is is ignorance. Not bothering to find out who Breitbart is before attempting to smear his opponent with guilt by association is stupid, and you just can't fix stupid.

Big Journalism : After Komen, Left Now Targeting Other Private Charities

If PP really wanted to help the hungry, surely they could find a non-denominational food bank that would accept the food, or perhaps they could take the food to the pantry themselves? But we can all see that this isn't really about taking care of the hungry. It's about shutting down and shutting up anyone who disagrees with the ideology of the left. How does it benefit the hungry to shut down a local food bank?

Big Hollywood : Theater of the Absurd: A Night at a Premium Movie House

Lately I've been going to the AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring, MD. The main theater is gorgeous - a huge screen and big, comfortable seats with plenty of legroom, and the two smaller theaters have stadium seating. The nicest thing about the Silver Theater, however, is that it's strictly an adult crowd. The riffraff all go to the multiplex one block over.

Big Government : Romney: 'I'm Not Concerned About the Very Poor, We Have a Safety Net There''

Every time I get to the point where I think I can live with the trade-off of conservatism for electability and competence, Romney says/does something like this. Romney really needs to get a campaign coach who will drill him on what not to say to the mainstream media. He needs to come up with a few short, sharp campaign slogans and hammer away on them, i.e., "I'm concerned about all Americans," "The best way to help the poor and middle class is to grow the economy and make sure people have jobs." Romney's performance in this interview is extremely frustrating.

Big Hollywood : Oscar Favorite 'The Artist' a Silent Antidote to Modern Cynicism

Big Journalism : New Hidden Camera Series Favors Political Agenda Over Entertainment

Here's a scenario for ABC: Have a group of college-age actors discuss politics while eating lunch in a diner. Assign one of the actors to be a conservative and assign the other actors to loudly and vociferously chastize the conservative for not adopting the progressives' agenda. Have them resort to snark, insults, and name-calling. See if anyone intervenes. Here's another scenario for ABC: Have an actor get hired at a union shop, then have the actor complain about having to pay union dues. See if the union thugs beat him up.

Breitbart.tv : Finger-Wag Flashback: NBC's Brian Williams Goes 'Jan Brewer' On President Bush

One of the things I most admire about Bush was that he never let the criticisms get to him. I know a lot of liberals view that as arrogance or a disconnect with reality, but to me it speaks of having the simple courage to do what you believe to be right despite other people's opinions, and I think it comes from a belief in a higher power. If you believe in God and believe that His judgment is far more important than man's, then you're willing to do what is right despite criticism. Maybe the reason so many liberals have a hard time understanding this character trait of Bush's is because so few of them believe in God. For them, the judgments of men are all-important and they become outraged when someone else doesn't bow down to collective opinions.

Big Hollywood : The 2012 Oscar Noms: More Proof Hollywood Doesn't Care About You

I've never been a huge movie-goer, but back in the '80's and early '90's, chances were good that I had seen three or four of the five best picture nominees, and there were one or two years when I had seen all five. Starting in the mid- to late-'90's, I would likely have seen just one or two of the nominees with absolutely zero interest in seeing the others. The result of year after year of movies being nominated that I have absolutely no interest in seeing means that I have absolutely no interest in the Oscars. This year is a little different for me. I've already seen three of the nominees - The Help, The Artist, and War Horse - and would like to see Hugo and Moneyball, but I actively dislike the other movies.

I don't understand your question. It appears that in his capacity as a church leader, Romney was very pro-life and counseled against abortion. Are you asking why didn't he impose his religious values on the citizens of Massachusetts, whether they were LDS or not?
