We hear a lot today from the Occupy Wall Street Crowd about the greedy 1% who “steal” from the 99%.

For clarity, I’d like to mention the REAL 1% in this country. The active duty military who make up 1% of the citizens of the United States (actually 0.7%) who put their lives on the line protecting the other 99%’s freedoms and their right to protest.

The Few, the Brave, the Honorable 1% protecting the often ungrateful 99%....

Absolutely, I worked at a large university and the tuition and fees charged and raised annually far in excess of inflation had nothing directly to do with the university operating budgets. There is so much shell gaming going on with federal and state funds, loans, donations, and huge endowments that it's nearly impossible to follow the money especially when they are not subject to the FOIA. Fees are raised in a status game to keep up with other institutions, fund programs that no sane person would finance, play politics and the endless PR game. Curricula are toyed with to make a 4 year degree almost impossible any more vs. 5 or 6 years and more revenues.

Rather than investigate steroids in sports, Congress should investigate higher education for bankrupting the youth and their families.

I would like to see someone in our oh so non partisan media give an estimate of how many of these protesters are in the unions or are being paid by a progressive left wing (ala Geo. Soros funded) organization. Just askin'
