Steve, I do agree with you in some cases. If you're in a major bind with the CC companies, then by all means pay them off first. It also depends on the friends/family you owe. Another way to look at is the emotional bind it can put on a relationship. If you owe someone money, there's emotional interest involved as well.

Yeah, you have to be careful with clients that have their own hosting. I have a couple that are with annoying hosts, and it's a pain to design workarounds to meet their specs. I encourage most of my new clients to leave their existing hosts due to either incredible overpayment or lack of features. That's why I'm still tempted to do a reseller account.

Thanks Aaron. I like it but I need to play with it some more to customize it. It's one of Woo Themes' free ones. They do some nice work. The DE site is a Woo Theme as well.

Between Woo and Revolution, there's a ton of really high quality premium themes to get started with and customize.

Philip - I agree with you for most things, but to be able to quickly apply a premium theme and customize just a few things might be worthwhile in some instances. For instance, I will use the Revolution themes for non-profits and churches that I develop for, because they don't require a ton of customization and can be implemented quickly at a low cost.

However, one issue you run into is that several people might have VERY similar designs if they rely too much on a base theme. There is much to debate on the topic.

I second the QuickBooks hate. It might be good for more complex businesses, but definitely not for freelancers.

Keep me posted on the Billings iPhone app - that would definitely be something that would push me to it.

Freshbooks has a Time Tracker included, with a Dashboard app and an iphone App to log time to a specific project and/or task.
