Great story. I'd say these kids are getting a better education than they ever would've gotten going to public school.

Having lived in Avery County for years, and knowing the dangers of Elk River Falls, jumping in there is about the craziest thing a person can do. It can take days to find a body once it goes down in there. It is nothing more than a drowning pool. To everyone that reads this please consider the consequenses of jumping into the falls before you do it. If you value your life you should just enjoy the scenery and stay out of the water.
