Chinese labor needs to organize so they don't have to earn slave wages, work 12-16hr days and live in poor conditions. Oh, wait, it's illegal to form a union in China, a Republicans wet dream.

obviously you know nothing about the FLRA and the basic American right of labor to organize. Don't worry, unions are on the decline in this country, just like the middle class and a living wage. Hurray for Republicans.

LINDSTROM, Minn. — Ki Gulbranson owns a logo apparel shop, deals in jewelry on the side and referees youth soccer games. He makes about $39,000 a year and wants you to know that he does not need any help from the federal government.

He says that too many Americans lean on taxpayers rather than living within their means. He supports politicians who promise to cut government spending.
Yet this year, as in each of the past three years, Mr. Gulbranson, 57, is counting on a payment of several thousand dollars from the federal government, a subsidy for working families called the earned-income tax credit. He has signed up his three school-age children to eat free breakfast and lunch at federal expense. And Medicare paid for his mother, 88, to have hip surgery twice. Mr. Gulbranson and many other residents who describe themselves as self-sufficient members of the American middle class and as opponents of government largess are drawing more deeply on that government with each passing year.

typical republican blowhard, take all of the benefits and refuse to pay for them while complaining about other people having them.

Like other progressive nations, Germany has universal health care, strong union representation, social safety nets, an emphasis on education and a well regulated market economy. All of the things conservatives in the US despise, which is why we're going backwards as other nations advance. Conservatives get their way we'll be a second world banana republic in 20 yrs.

Conservative deregulation nonsense turned Wall St and the global finance industry into a fraud and corruption spewing gambling casino. Took us to war in two countries without a way to pay for it. Passed massive entitlements (med part d) without a way to pay for it. Expanded government without a way to pay for it (dept of homeland sec). Now they want to pay for their mistakes by cutting safety nets for the poor while the rich give them a reach around.
